If you use a thin batter, this donut maker will work well for you. If your typical batter is thick, such as a coconut flour batter often is, this won't work at all. This is a light weight batter dispenser, seems to be well-made for the price. It simply didn't work for the purpose I wanted it for.

Cute little donut dropper. Doesn't work the best but is fun to use. Next time I'll try thinner batter than what I did. I made funny looking freaks. I didn't make 1 single normal looking donut. Fun to use with kids but don't plan to make professional looking donuts.

I guess I can't say it works great for donuts (never tried), but it's perfect as a pancake dispenser! Have been using this one for 10+ years, still looks & works great. Also like it when pouring cupcake batter, keeps the edges neat & clean...I give it short shots of batter for more volume control. It holds about 2-1/4 cups of batter at a time.

you cant tell from the picture but this thing is only about six inches tall and can hold about 2 cups of batter, and i feel like i could break it if i accidentily dropped it. i should have guessed that from the price.

I needed an inexpensive cake donut dispenser for a catering job at my office. The Norpro 3168 worked out well. It was a little difficult to get the batter into the device...a flared opening would have helped. Also, the bolt on the bottom of the unit was constantly loosening which resulted in the dough not dispensing evenly.(so make sure you tighten it regularly) But all in all it was perfect for the average home donut maker.

I really thought this doughnut maker would simplify making doughnuts. Unfortunately it's rather troublesome, because after taking some trouble to get the dough to the right consistency, I discover that the Norpro 3168 requires the dough to be rather runny. So I pour some runny dough into the container of the doughnut maker, and what results is just a messy blob that falls out of the doughnut maker in soggy little pieces. I suppose I'll still give it the benefit of doubt, and maybe try and create a separate dough to dispense via the doughnut maker- versus the sort of tough dough that can be cut with a cutter. I wish they had mentioned details about dough consistency. The doughnut recipe book is lovely; but what's the point, if one can't seem to get the doughnut dough for the dispenser right.

Growing up my grandma made donuts at every family get together, she used a donut maker much like this one. The spring works nice and it is easy to make the perfect donut. It seals nicely when you let go, limiting the dripping and wasting of batter. It is relatively easy to clean as long as you rinse it right after you are done using it. Appears very durable and is dishwasher safe. I would buy this product again.
