I floured and peeled for years until I used one of these making pastry in a friends kitchen. What a timesaver. Dough does not stifk and makes pastry prep so myuch easier . Marble surface is nice but this is nicer. Comes with a frame for stability and circles to roll out standard shapes . get the cloth rolling pin covers as accessory and you'll find rolling dough to be so much easier. the whole thing rolls up and fits compactly in a plastic bag in a drawer when you are finished. Why it never dawned on me to get this earlier I'll never know. It makes the job so much easier.

Years ago I purchased this item, at the time, manufactured by Foley, I think. With it I could do just about any cookie recipe which needed rolling. No dough getting stuck on the counter, or such. No pastry cloths sliding all over the counter while I was rolling out the dough. How thin I coud roll my cookies!! I had quite a reputation around town. Then we moved and the frame disappeared. Not many specialty Christmas cookies coud be made. Then the frame was discovered on Amazon and once more I possess a pastry frame.

Thank you, thank you,thank you for producing the best helper a cookie baker ever had. I can only give it 5 stars, but if there were more, it would have every one. (Works well for piecrusts, too.)

We got it and it looked almost identical to the one I've cherished for years because my Great-Grandmother made all kinds of goodies on it, including Lefsa. But after 23 years of my husband cutting his cinnamon rolls directly on the cloth he finally cut a couple holes in it.
Getting back to this one... after 3 or 4 batches of cinnamon rolls he asks me if he should wash it. I said "no."

Yesterday he comes over to me with the pastry cloth in his hands... it was covered with pills from drying it in the dryer with his sweatshirts - blue ones! And he said "I think I wreaked it"
I said "I told you NOT to wash it!" He said "Yeah, but sometimes I don't listen too well"
That's the understatement of the year... and that's saying something since there's only a few more days of this year!
So... if you purchase this, be careful how and what you wash it with. The one I just retired had been used and well cherished for over 50 years. AND... I had personally washed it several times over the years.
