Recently I had two bathrooms remodeled. It didn't take long before I noticed stained rings around my new commodes. I honestly can say I tried just about every product on the market to clean the ever-increasing ring around. Then I read about this scouring stick. I was hesitant at first to even order this stick for fear of damaging my new commodes. Finally, I thought what do I have to lose. This scouring stick has been able to do what brand cleaners could not. And, it is so easy. No chemicals, no strong odors. You simply rub the stain and almost like magic it disappears. I really do not under-stand why such a product does not appear on store shelves.

I live in an area with well water, and all the mineral
deposits stain the inside of the toilet. I've tried everything
to get them off...soaked in Comet overnight, bleach etc....
This pumice stick works, but you really have to put some elbow
grease into it to rub stains off...Immediate results though!
I would purchase again.

This pumice stick is GREAT for getting hard water stains off of porcelin. We have very hard water where I live, and this takes it off well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that it takes a bit of elbow grease. Not too much, but there is some scrubbing that needs to be done.

I have very hard water. I have tried a large number of toilet cleaners trying to remove the sediment/rust ring. I tried Clorox, CLR, Vinegar, Various Toilet bowl cleaner. Nothing worked. I was embarrassed whenever company came over. When I heard about the pumice stick I was somewhat skeptical, but figured I would give it a try. It took less than 10 minutes to completely remove all the nasty stuff. You just have to see it to believe it. Two split image photos attached: the toilet before and after, and the stick before and after.

The pumice stick not only removed the sediment, it was fast and easy to use. As pumice works it crumbles and this grit helps clean the sediment. After the job was finished I felt the bowl with my finger I did not feel any scratch marks.

Pumice stones come as a stick without a handle or as a stone attached to a handle. The pumice stick without a handle gives you better leverage, and is cheaper. To avoid small particles coming off the pumice stone getting on my hands I just put on gloves.

A-m-a-z-i-n-g!

I am completely blown away by how effective this is, and not only for ancient mineral stains on porcelain, but for burned on grease! I had a big spot on my stovetop that I hve been hammering away at with oven cleaners, scrapers, comet, boiling water... and it was, I thought, just one of those permanent burned on areas that you get on stoves and grills and fry pots.

Well, this thing took it off like nothing I have ever imagined in my life. I couldn't believe my eyes. So I started trying it out on the stovetop grates, pans with baked-on blackened bits, everything I'd always found nearly impossible to get clean. It worked on everything, easily. I'm just beside myself with glee over it, honestly. I feel like a supply of these and I can clean anything.

AND... it magically does not harm the finish on the stove, which is very nice black stove that's about 5 years old. I was worried than anything powerful enough to scrub off the burned on stuff was going to hurt the finish. Nope. Leaves it smooth and clean.

Lay in a supply!

(Yes, it breaks down as you use it, I think that may be part of the secret to the effectiveness, I'm not sure. But it's certainly not any kind of problem, not least because it actually helps when cleaning things with odd curves and crevices: it quickly conforms to the shape of the thing you're cleaning! It would actually be a drag if it kept it's flat block shape!)

I had a good thing going on. She was flirty, fun, athletic. Like the techno music that plays in the background of a Nike running shoe commercial. We met at the hot bar of a Whole Foods - we both reached for the Taiwanese noodles at the same time. I joked how every time I walk into Whole Foods I plan on getting just a snack and end up walking out with a $35 dollar to-go box. She smiled furtively and laughed - the giggle equivalent of a summer breeze. There seemed to be a secret on the tip of her tongue, and she was just moments away from letting me in on it.

It was easy. It was fun. I was minerals trader, flipping coltan in Nairobi for platinum in Kinshasa. She was an editor at the paper, married to the byline. I played basketball. She did Krav Magra. We ate long brunches, traded sections of the Sunday Times, texted each other emoticons while abroad. In no way, shape, or form did we see each other in our lives five year's down the road. It was like picking up an enjoyable hitch hiker for your ride down the highway - that 21st century non-romance.

Then, all of a sudden, she was heading back to her place after Krav Magra rather than coming to mine. She wasn't sleeping over on Thursday nights after dinner. There was a subtle twitch in her eye, the hint of a whisper hiding in the back of her throat.

One day, it came out. She was afraid of my bathroom. Over time the soap scum had collected, like a blanket of sea weed brought in by the tide and dried out on the sun, and now the once white tub was shadowed dark grey by grunge.

I went to work. I put in fifteen minutes of elbow grease and called it a day.
