As noted in several reviews, the brad point is not perfectly aligned with the center of the bit shaft. Having written that, I must note that it does not seem to matter. I tested several bits using a drill press and a clamped down section of softwood. At the bottom of the rather clean hole was a precise, conical shaped indentation from the brad point, so, it is not off by much. The bits did not tear the surface grain appreciably, and certainly not like a pilot bit designed for metal does.

I tilted the press table to 15 degrees to see how the bits behaved on an angle, and although there was a slight wobble of the wood, the hole was easily made and clean inside. Again, no surface grain tear-out. The resulting hole from several test bits was about 1/64" larger than the nominal bit diameter, which is about what I find in other bits and of no real consequence to my wood-working. When I start worrying about 1/64", it will be time to get a Valium prescription.

At this price one should not expect a "precision" bit set nor the highest quality. But for the price, these are exceptionally good bits. They are well-centered (relatively speaking), have a decent case and cut well.

PROS:
* Bits are of surprisingly good quality at this price
* Bits are decently-centered; no significantly off-center bits
* The case is metal and protective

CONS:
* These aren't precision bits nor should they be expected to be so at this price
* Some bits may have a very slight "wobble"... but not enough to cause project problems
* The plastic handle on the case is junk; you'll wind up throwing it away almost immediately
* Box can be a bit difficult to open (I just leave it closed but not clasped)
* Some bits may not be completely finished-sharp... however they still drill and a micro file can fix them easily
* Bit sizes on the back row are blocked by the front-row bits and difficult to read

While these cons may seem significant, one has to remember this is a 25-piece drill bit set for less than a buck a bit. That's why I give it 5 stars: value for price. I would definitely buy this set again.

First off, Brad point drill bits are perfect for precision drilling with wood. The tip of the blade allows you to start the bore without the bit 'walking' around. These bits bore out a precise and clean hole, whether drilling all the way through or just creating flat bottomed bore for doweling as an example. I don't really know how good these bits would be as they weren't high priced, but also not the cheapest. They are of surprisingly good quality. However, these bits are designed for wood, not metal. I haven't tried and won't try to drill metal with these bits. But for wood, I don't think you're going to beat the quality of the bore. More expensive sets will match the quality, but they won't beat it. Excellent set of bit's with a higher than average selection of size increments. Highly recommended.

At first when I looked at these on line I thought you will get what you pay for. But I was surprised when I recieved them. There is a good varity of sizes of standard quality. The value for the product is higher than I expected. The bits have proven to be true on center so far. Good value for your money.

There cheap, don't expect much. The case isn't worth it either. Some of the bits were to dull to use out of the box. But a little filing fixed that. Once again the saying is true, you get what you pay for. I didn't pay much and I didn't get much. Not recommended.

I guess you get what you pay for. These bits are so far off that you can see the wobble when running in the drill press. They look good, but that's it. I would not recommend.

I actually bought a 7-pc set from this manufacturer a few months ago and liked them enough to move into this larger set. Not the world's greatest, but they work well-enough. At the given price, they are a good value. No complaints. They drill well enough, and come in a pretty decent metal box. I might buy another to keep as a back-up/successor.
