I bought a set of these (actually in extra high) to temporarily mount a scope while waiting on delivery of some Burris Signature rings. I think their great and if I didn't have a need to increase the MOA I would leave them on the weapon. They are very smooth on the inside and haven't left a single mark on my scope after mounting removing and replacing a couple times while adjusting things. The rail locks are screwdriver heads and the 8 ring screws are Allen heads. These will fit either a weaver or Pic rail. Another reviewer said they will not work on the 10/22 integrated rail on the top of the receiver and he is correct. That is called a "Tip off" mount and Weaver makes specific rings for that application but it is not these.

Great rings for mounting a 1" tube scope on lower recoil rifle. The quad-lock is better on a cheap pair of rings. I would not use them on anything larger than a 223. Some people might use them on a 30-06 but that would be their upper limits. I used them on a Ruger 10/22 with a Weaver multi-slot rail that I bought at Amazon also. They are well machined and did not need any honing to mount an 3-9x40 scope that I had in the back of the safe. Use Loctite. Take the time to bring each screw down part way and cross tighten them like you do a wheel on a truck. Be sure to plumb your reticle to your rifle as you tighten. I did use a Inch Pounds Torque Wrench that I bought at Amazon to final tighten them to 12 in/Lbs. on the cap rails and 25 in/Lbs. on the bottom. These rings will go on a properly machined Picatinny rail or your black gun.

Nice mount but I needed to add shims between the mount and the base in order to keep it from moving. Couldn't tighten the base screws enough to keep it secure. Seems like the base of the rings were just a hair too large for the base. I used a micrometer to take measurements and determined the base of the rings were slightly large. I finally got the rings to tighten-up on the base by adding home-made shims under the rings.

I bought several of these rings and installed them without problems UNTIL the other day. I was mounting one lower ring on my Savage 93 bolt gun until it tightend up (the screw did) but noticed the lower ring still was loose. The other lower ring didn't have that problem and tightend up properly. I switched off the problem lower ring with another one (same type) and it did tighten properly.

Being curious, I bought a different set of rings (Leupold Rifleman series) from a local gun shop and tried them. Everything worked fine and I noticed that the Leupold rings were beefy compared to the wimpy Weaver ones. The small clip that tightens the ring to the rail is thin on the Weaver and heavy duty on the Leopolds. Hmmmm.... Well I ditched all the Weaver ones and changed everything over to the Leupolds. I hear horror stories about bad scopes, inaccurate barrels, my gun not shooting consistantly straight, ect, and most of the time it's a bad scope mount or improperly mounted scope. I can't trust these rings at all.

Look at the picture of these rings and notice the thin rectangular piece of metal underneath the tighting screw. Then compare it to a Leupold "Rifleman series" ring and tell me which one do you want on your gun.

Price difference is twice for the Leupold but $18.00 for the good one vs $9.00 for the cheap one shouldn't be a show stopper. Weaver does make higher end mounts but this line is marginal at best.

I bought a set of these quite a few years ago when they were new to the market, and at first felt the dual straps were just a bit too much fuss. However, since then, I have come to appreciate that these are consistent, good quality rings that hold a scope really well. During scope mounting, using only one strap per ring makes it easy to make minor adjustments. Then, when the scope is level and bore sighted, the second strap can be added and all four straps can be tightened down evenly. Best part: They're a bargain for what you get. Makes it hard to justify buying poorly made, off-brand cheap Chinese rings when these can be had for less than $15 per set. I've got several sets of these on different types of rifles, and am getting ready to order another set.

I bought these rings so that I could detach my scope when traveling through airports. I put the scope in my carry on to protect it from harsh handling. I have a Remington 700 sps tactical, and a Vortex diamondback 4-12x40 scope, and these rings fit both well, but they are such a good fit that there isn't enough space between the barrel and the front lens to put the scope cap back on. If you don't have the thick bull barrel on your rifle I don't think you'll have that problem.

I received these scope rings in perfect condition. They were exactly what I thought they would be. They are aesthetically pleasing and I feel certain that they would function reliably for any scope mount of the appropriate dimension. .....Unfortunately.....I ordered these to maintain a low center mount on a Weatherby Vanguard (Howa 1500..). After examining them I determined that they would place the scope too close to the bolt handle for comfortable use. I had considered this possibility before ordering, but assumed (I know, I know...!) that there would be sufficient clearance.

Because of this clearance issue, I chose to return these rings and reorder something just a little higher. But, these rings ARE good quality, and they DO look good! If your particular application allows low mounting, or if you have a short 45 or 60 degree bolt lift, then these rings would suit you perfectly. No problems or issues of any kind....

Good workmanship. Nicely finished. ..... Good product.
