The coupler works fine. Just as advertised. However, the "people frequently buy these things together" teaser worked on me and, once everything arrived, I quickly realized I hadn't read closely enough. Of the 12 Piece Ateco Large Tip Set, here is the scoop on which tips will (or won't) fit this suggested coupler:

802: YES (technically but would fit a smaller coupler better)

This is ok. It doesn't for my big 1M tips unfortunately which is why I ordered it. It fits the next size down from that in which I rarely use since I decorate cupcakes and I don't want smaller lines of frosting.

I bought this item as part of the "Frequently Purchased Together" combo, which also included the Ateco 6-Piece tip set and the Ateco Plastic Coated Decorating Bag. It's great, as long you only use the three smaller tips in the set. The other three are too large for this "large" coupler.

The problem is that in order to make this thing work in your bag, you need to trim off the bag at the opening until a couple of the adapter's threads are visible. After you get the opening large enough to accommodate the coupler, you still have to force it into the hole, making it next to impossible to extract, which is what you would need to do in order to remove the adapter and install the large tips by themselves.

My guess is that if you intend to use the large tips, that you may want to purchase a second bag and cut the opening to size to accommodate your larger tips. This adapter just isn't up to the task. <sigh>

I purchased a deluxe Wilton set (baked goods decorating tips) recently and found out I needed a large tip coupler for the bigger tips in my set. It fit perfectly so I was very pleased! I wish the Wilton set came with the large coupler to begin with.

May use tips that are no larger than 1 1/4" at the base - any larger tip will not fit. Also, it is pictured, at time of purchase, as having two different couplers, when it only ships with one.

I ordered this LARGE tip coupler and a package of LARGE tips and it fit all but 2 of the LARGE tips. If it's going to claim to be a LARGE tip coupler I would think it would fit all the LARGE tips that came in the same package, so I've got to find an EXTRA large tip coupler to fit my apparently EXTRA large 2 tips.

These say large tip coupler but they are actually EXTRA LARGE or JUMBO they do not fix with Wilton large tips I didnt bother looking at reviews I assumed large tip and large coupler would fit together but boy was i wrong

The ateco 6 piece pastry tube and tips set have 2 different sizes: 3 large and 3 extra large. The medium size decorating tip coupler does not work with the 3 large tips. Only the large cake decorating tip coupler fits these tips. The extra large tips can just be dropped into a deocorating bag.
