Cleaning your firearm after shooting is a must. Hoppe has a complete line of bore brushes, mops, etc., to do the job. I also use the brush to clean the receiver on my older Mausers... it does a very good job.

My wire brushes have all been copper. Although they do the job, I always puncture one or more fingers, however slightly. So I tried Hoppe's nylon brush. Thought it would be too soft, but it does a better job. First, it loosens all the filings and deposits (just as a copper brush). Second, it really does have 'memory'--the brush does not deform (unlike a copper brush). And, third, although slightly sharp-ended, it does not puncture skin (unlike a copper brush). Very happy with this. I am using it on a pair of H&R Pardner 20-gauge single shots, with fixed modified chokes.

I was unaware, but I will need to purchase an adaptor so that I can use this item. I have a rifle cleaning kit, and need an adaptor for the larger shotgun cleaning brush. This item has a 5/16X27 thread on it. Wish I would have looked at the other reviews on this item prior to purchase.
