I often need threadlocker for different things around the house and those little tubes just don't cut it!! Problem solved. This thread locker keeps things tight but you can take it apart if you need to. Good for screws in computers too...what do you thing that blue on the screw is! Loctite 242!!

I run a shooting match called the Steel Challenge. My targets are bolted in place but the bolts were always coming off from the impact of bullets slamming into it...especially .45's. Bought this bottle of Loctite and the problem was solved.

I own a Benchmade 52 'Morpho' Balisong and a Benchmade 'Contego' Axis-lock, and coincidentally, they both needed Loctite 'Threadlocker' 242 to keep the pivot screws from loosening. The Balisong needed threadlocker on every screw, which I only realized when one of the tiny zen-pin screws went flying amidst the flipping. If you own knives, this is the stuff you want. If you have no idea what the f*** I'm babbling about, this still might be the stuff you're looking for. It locks screws up solid, but not so solid you can't break the grip with a driver. It won't mess things up irrevocably if you apply it then realize you forgot a washer, for example. But as far as hard use, preventing screws from loosening due to vibration and shock, it's excellent.

Because my Harley constantly tries to shake itself apart, I need fastener/thread lock on nearly all of my bolts and screws. I just need to remember to keep straight when I want to use the blue Loctite (often) and when I want to use the red (rarely). :-)

Unlike Loctite (Red) 271, which is more of a permanent thread sealer/locker, Loctite Blue 242 is probably the most versatile thread locker in use. Large or small fasteners, this holds tight until loosened with a tool. This allows for repair or replacement of your project parts without destroying the threads or the fastener. A little pricey, depending on the size of container, it's well worth every dime you pay. This is especially true when mounting a scope on a large caliber rifle. The more sever recoil you have the more you need this 242. It holds fast until you loosen it. Just a small dab does the job. Be sure to thoroughly clean the surfaces you are planning to apply Loctite to for best results. No home, garage or tool box should be without it.

Let's see...

Magpul vertical grip secured with Loctite Blue - check!

Vortex Strikefire secured within its high mount by Loctite Blue - check!

Quad rail secured in place by Loctite Blue - check!

Streamlight Polytac secured in offset mount by Loctite Blue - check!

... and so much more to come.

Loctite Blue is the perfect product to make sure that there is a no slip connection between bolts and their receivers, and it is outstanding for use with firearms as the stuff withstands the beating and vibration without a second thought. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly.

At the range two days ago, I found two set screws laying on the range floor of my lane and they were identical to the screws used to secure my AR quad rail... not a speck of a sign of Loctite Blue was on them, and I'll bet that somebody out there is not at all happy with the loose condition of their rail right now. Not gonna happen to my rigs.

If you have a need similar to what I described above, get this stuff -- you will not regret it. Highly recommended.

If you have this on hand, you'll use it on everything that needs threadlocker.
If you don't, some of the fasteners won't get done & they could fail.
Get the big bottle!
