For most of my professional life I have been a classical violinist. I was a titled member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in New York, and was also Concertmaster (first chair violinist) of the internationally acclaimed Mantovani Orchestra for a couple of their national tours.

I have two degrees in music performance: a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas, and a Masters from the Yale School of Music.

However, after branching out on my own as a booking agent and promoter of my own pop groups for weddings and parties, I developed a new style....sort of a synthesis of classical, swing, jazz, and simply romantic pop music. I eventually started making recordings with the musicians I most enjoyed hiring and playing with- all of whom are world class performers.

"I Do" is a special edition CD for Brides-to-be. The first half of the recording features music for the ceremony, mostly classical. The second half of the recording is "first dance" tunes. The instrumentation consists of rich Violin melody accompanied by acoustic guitar, or elegant string quartet, or by sparkling piano and bass. It is a recompilation of tracks from Gary Schnitzer's previous CD's, plus new music. It makes a perfect engagement gift, and it is also a great introduction and overview to Gary's discography. This CD, like all of Gary's Violin Romance CD titles, is beautifully packaged to make an elegant gift item or stocking stuffer.

My wife & I bought and used this CD for music in our outdoor wedding in March 2006. We spent weeks searching the Internet for a good wedding music CD - and found an assortment of interesting ones - but the violin music by Gary just beat out the competition hands down. It's beautiful stuff. I highly, highly recommend it.

I first got this CD a couple years ago and my friends liked it so much they used several of the tracks for their own wedding. It's a very well thought out collection of nicely performed pieces. Worth every penny in short. The violin is the perfect instrument for a romantic occasion such as a wedding, and Gary plays it as well as anyone I have seen. I also listen to it just to relax. Bravo!

Even though intended for a wedding, I've enjoyed listening to the music on "I Do" anytime I want to be lifted by Gary's engaging performances. Pachelbel's Canon in D is beautifully done, as is, in my opinion, the entire CD. A worthy buy, with a nice variety of tunes, classical and popular.
