What I thought I was ordering was the genuine weller heavy duty tips like what came with my gun 30 years ago. Two of them lasted all these years.
What I got was cheap flimsy tips that wobble and bend at the lightest pressure.
Shameful at any price.

It was difficult finding a replacement soldering tip for my Weller soldering gun. I was pleased to find it on Amazon, less pleased of the quality.

The metal is lighter gauge than the original. As I bent the ends of the new tip to facilitate inserting into the gun, one end snapped off. I was able to shorten the length of the tip and successfully bend the ends on both contacts. It works fine now.

IT DID NOT SEEM TO WORK VERY GOOD. I WAS TRYING TO GET SOME PARTS OFF OF AN OLD PRINTED CIRCUIT BD AND IT DID NOT GET HOT ENOUGH TO MELT THE SOLDER ON THE BOARD. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THESE TIPS. THE OLD TIP HAD A LARGER POINT ON THE END, MAYBE THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT TIP ???

MAYBE THE GUN JUST IS NOT GOOD ANY MORE, BUT IT DID A GOOD JOB UP UNTIL I BROKE THE ORIGINAL TIP.

MAYBE IT WILL WORK IN YOUR WELLER, BUT IT DID NOT WORK IN MINE.

They are Weller, They work, and that is exactly what you get with the reputation Weller has.
Followup: 06/2015 They are tinned properly and are great work horses.
Cheap tips from over seas I have problems with.
These Weller tips work as you would expect.

So far, so good. First batch of tips burned out within a week. Not sure why, sadly. I decided to try again, and this batch seems MUCH more robust. They clean to a shine easily, they take a tin well, and I expect them to last for a long time. Using in a Weller 8200D.
