Not a bad looking cable, integrated speaker, mic, USB, & DVI. However the audio wires are a little too short. When plugging directly into a KVM that has all the connections co-located, the thick DVI cable might pull out the audio cables. Note that this is a very stiff cable.

Also, this is a DVI-I cable. This means that it contains the 4 little pins around the spade for analog as well as the pins for digital. This won't connect to a digital only connector that blocks the holes for the 4 analog pins. I also tried yanking the 4 analog pins with a pliers only to find that a digital only connector uses a narrower spade - so it still won't connect. So this won't work for you if you need to connect to a digital adaptor from a display port.

I spoke with StarTech support before ordering anything. They walked me through the set up on my KVM switch and told me exactly what I needed to order. They only had one of these in stock through Amazon, so I had to order this and another from a different vendor. Works perfectly. I really appreciate StarTech support. Very helpful.

I purchased the Startech SV231USB to replace the old Startech KVM which had a difficulty recognizing my Logitech wireless Trackman.
From that installation, I knew I needed a longer cable to get to computer #2 than the six foot cables provided with the KVM kit.
This cable works great with the SV231USB KVM switch.
It is solid; no keyboard or mouse glitches, and the video is sharp without ringing, noise, or other such degradation.
Highly recommended if one of your computers is more than 6 feet away from the control unit, as it is, after all, designed to work with the Startech SV231USB KVM control unit.

Picture is misleading! I thought that this was the KVM switch that I had searched for, but it's only the cables!! If you are looking for a DVI-D KVM Swtich, buy this product instead: Linkskey 2-Port DVI USB Audio Microphone KVM Switch with QuickSwitch Remote Button (LDV-302ARC). This product are the CABLES ONLY!

I purchased these cables to go from one of my computers to a KVM. When I first fired it up, I had flickering pixels and my display would cut out completely every 2-10 seconds. I originally thought my KVM was no good or getting too hot but I also knew that not all DVI cables are created equal. I bought an expensive cable (about 30 bucks) and the problem disappeared completely from the display that was having trouble. I thought maybe it stopped because the machine had cooled off and the KVM was cooler as well. I wanted to make sure it was the cable so I tried it out on another machine and presto, same problem, really really bad signal transmission via that cable. It shocked me because the cable is not insignificant. I also replaced it with a single link DVI-D cable and signal transmission was much better with what looks like an inferior cable.

I will say that I did buy two of these and the other seems to work fine. I am just shocked that there was such a difference between the too. One is fine, the other is completely unusable.

If you want to save yourself a lot of headache with a KVM setup, go get some 6ft Comprehensive DVI-D Dual link cables and get everything else separate. The cables are really nice and the 6ft ones are only 8 bucks. 10ft will run you 30 bucks though.

Be aware though that it is a dvi -d connection which doesn't fit in all dvi ports. I had to buy a seperate adapter to make it work with my dell laptop docking station. I bought four of them all four arrived perfect.

I purchased this KVM cable, and it was promptly shipped and delivered.

Upon arrival, it turns out it was the wrong one. . . But this review does get 5 stars for a reason.

I immediately contacted the seller and amazon thinking I'd gotten scammed into buying a cheaper, older DVI cable.

Turns out that the mistake was made by the original manufacturer who mislabeled the sealed plastic packaging the cable came in.

The seller contacted me within hours, told me they would correct the order without a need to return the incorrect cable I had gotten, and sent the new product overnight immediately.

Overall I was very impressed with the customer service and the new cable is exactly as pictured and expected.

So impressive, that even with the problems that occured in the packaging, I still give 5/5. I would definitely buy from this seller again, knowing that if anything goes wrong they are responsible and quick to correct it.

I purchased this along with a KVM switch that was DVI-I but my computer was DVI-D.
Step 1: Check both your comptuer graphic card and see if you are DVI-D or DVI-I. [...]
Step 2: Then check to see which DVI interface is on the KVM switch.

Other than that, I think the cables are just fine.
