When looking for a way to salvage several sweaters that were in need of replacement, I purchased both the D-Fuzz-It DFuzzIt Sweater & Fabric Comb by Oak Hill above as well as the Remington RPFS-100 Fuzz Away Fabric Shaver. I found that both products worked well. The more expensive, battery operated Remington RPFS-100 Fuzz Away Fabric Shaver worked well removing larger, discrete fuzz balls from sweaters, but was less effective on removing fuzz before it balled up. The D-Fuzz-It-Sweater And Fabric Comb was more labor intensive and a bit messy, but was more effective on removing fuzz before it balled-up, giving more of a "like-new" appearance to the sweater. (Yes I have learned more about sweater fuzz than anyone should know.)

I would recommend both products. They have saved me a combined $300 - $400 so far.

I bought an Izumi battery-operated sweater shaver, a sweater stone lint remover, and this comb. Although all three work, this is my favorite because it is the easiest to use and you can't beat the price. Also, the sweater stone actually made a hole in one of my favorite sweaters. I'm back to buy a couple more combs!

I was pleasantly surprised by the results after using this comb on my cashmere cardigan. As you can see in the pictures, it gets the job done. I think it's also one of the cheapest piling removers in comparison to other alternatives (e.g., sweater stone and gleener). It was also easy to remove all the pilings from the comb. The two reasons why I gave this product four stars instead of five are because it's pretty time-consuming for large items with big surface areas and the fact that the item wasn't delivered by the estimated delivery date range.

PROS:
1. compact & easy to maneuver
2. cheap
3. gets job done

CONS:
1. time-consuming for large items

This comb is the bomb for removing fuzzies. It takes a little work, and you definitely need to deploy a lint roller and vacuum cleaner when you're done, but it does wonders. I can definitely get one more season out of my winter coat and several sweaters where as before they were headed to goodwill. But, the comb falls apart SO easily. I've used it twice and super glued it back together twice. I know this is a cheap item, but it shouldn't be quite that disposable.

Ok I must be missing something. I bought this comb based on the positive reviews. I guess 'fuzz balls' and 'sweater pills' must be two different things. I bought it for sweater pills. When i received it I thought wow, that thing is sharp & looks like it would tear my husbands nice sweaters to shreds. I barely touched it to a sweater & the teeth stuck & snagged. I previously had a fabric shaver which was battery opperated & it worked great for pills, when it broke I searched online & came upon this comb. I actually had another battery shaver in my cart along with this comb, but it sounded great being able to save money on batteries & lint roller refills so I ended up just buying this. It'll work fine on my heavy duty items like bath towels when they get really linty, but I don't get how folks are using it on their sweaters.

Okay, I ordered the Dritz D-Fuzz-It Sweater and Fabric Comb but I was sent the Collins sweater & Fabric Comb - the picture changes on Amazon based on what page you're looking at... so it's not great.

I was expecting this to work quite well... and it's really just okay. I used this on a lambs wool and regular wool sweater. It did "reduce" the fuzz but it didn't completely get rid of it... it just sort of spread it around. I don't see a huge difference at all.

I don't know if the ACTUAL Drifz D-Fuzz-It Sweater and Fabric Comb would actually work better. Do a better job, Amazon!

Do you own clothes? You should have one of these. I've had a mechanical shaver that cut holes in my clothes and then wore out after consuming way too many batteries. Never again! After that disaster I started shaving my clothes with a single-bladed disposable razor, but that takes forever and you still have to careful not to tear a hole in the fabric. This sweater comb is easy to use, safe for fabrics, and makes your clothes look like new! Well, maybe not brand-new, but embarrassing pills are a thing of the past with this comb. Sure, it's manual, so you will spend a little time shaving your clothes - but it's also great for quick-fixes on problem areas like under the arms. I used in on my dress this morning and was ready to go in a minute. You can save yourself the trouble of buying new clothes and save your favorites with this comb, and at this price there's no excuse. It works on sweaters, wool coats, and knits (including ponte knits) without damaging the fabric.
