Mmm Mmm Good

The first thing I have to ask is, "Who in the world is paying $5 for this mix?" I discovered it today in my local Stop and Shop and it was only $1.99 here in New Jersey.

That being said, I have pretty much always used just flour, seasoned salt and other seasonings to fry chicken, pork chops and such and that's worked for years. But I am so glad I found this seasoning. I wanted to duplicate a pork chop recipe I had at a restaurant where the pork chops were fried and then served with sauteed onions and jalapeno peppers. Well, it was just delicious. I repeat, DELICIOUS.

If you're lucky enough to find this mix for less than the $5 it's listed at here, lucky for you. But at any price, it really is a truly marvelous seasoning mix to use for fried foods. And I agree with the others; it's not too salty at all. It's just perfect. Use the pan drippings for a gravy and you've got a tasty meal in a snap!

Awesome seasoning

I always keep Kentucky Kernel Seasoned flour on hand. It's great with Chicken, Pork, and try some deep fried pickles with it! Highly recommended. I agree with previous comments, everyone asks what seasoning the food was cooked with. Get it...but don't buy all, save some for me.

Add great flavor to crockpot roasts.

This was recommended to me to use when making a roast with deer meat. I add it at the end to the liquid in crockpot to bring it to more of a stew. I was skeptical at first that they said I had to use this particular brand, since I couldn't get it in stores near me. But I was pleasant pleased after using it. The seasoning in it added so much punch to the final taste. I was glad I took the chance. I think it's a staple in all crockpot roast recipes now.

I love chicken, in fact it's my favorite meat. Usually, I prepare my own coating for chicken, using a variety of seasonings, however I saw many good reviews for this product, and thought I would give it a chance.

At first glance, I thought it was a KFC seasoning, or that it would taste similar. It doesn't, so don't expect it to. What it is though, is a fantastic assortment of seasonings blended together so well, that it produces one of the greatest flavors imaginable.

The price is high, and after making the initial purchase and deciding to buy more, I scoured Amazon, to see if I could find a better deal. Which I did. I would suggest skipping this purchase, and just buying it in bulk here: Hodgson Mill Seasoned Flour, Economy Size, 22-Ounce (Pack of 4)

Over-all, the item is great, and improves not just chicken, but pork chops!

The only downside is, that I used to love my own special blend of spices, and now all I want to use is Kentucky Kernel.

I absolutely LOVE this flour!!

I purchased this flour at the commissary and was a little skeptical since it was pre-seasoned....I thought it might be too salty, but BOY WAS I WRONG!!! It is the best I've ever tried on chicken, pork chops, and I even made fried okra with it and it was the best ever! I'm glad Amazon stocks this item just in case we ever have to move, I'll know I can always get it here!

I use this seasoned flour all the time. Its great for fried pork chops or fried chicken. It has just enough spice to add flavor but its not overpowering. I have to buy it here because its not offered in my local stores.

Left out of the Mix

I was really excited to see this product on sale and wanted to try it after all the great reviews. Unfortunately, I see Kentucky Kernel contains monosodium glutamate. That is probably one reason everyone thinks it tastes so good. That is the sole purpose of MSG. However, I am one of the many people who cannot tolerate that ingredient as it can make me violently ill. At least the manufacturer has been honest enough to list it. Too many products hide the presence of MSG with false designations. For all of you who are not bothered by it, Bon Appetite!
