This thing turns 1% milk into "whipped cream" in 7 pumps of the plunger component part thingy. LOL. Seriously, it DOES! It's amazing, like magic! The clean up can be a bit of a pain just because I'm OCD and have to take my tiny little brush and scrub between the curled metal piece like a crazy woman. Really, after I pour the "whipped cream" onto my latte I put hot water and a drop of dish liquid in the container and pump it 7-8 times and rinse in hot water and VIOLA! Clean!

I bought this on a friend’s recommendation and it’s been great! Rich, creamy froth from fat-free or 1% milk with 20 easy pumps of the plunger. I had no idea that lattes at home were so easy, and chai tea lattes are as good as any (Stash Tea from Amazon, Italian vanilla bean syrup). Haven't tried Irish coffee or other recipes yet, but I'm sure they'll be just as good.

The instructions say fat-free works best, but we've mostly used 1%. Either way, it's so rich that there’s no temptation to try 2% or whole milk, and the low fat content means the frother rinses off easily.

Some reviews mention that the carafe is made of thin glass, and while thicker would be nice, I don't think it's problematically thin.

The only thing I'm not sure of yet is whether the froth is fine enough to allow for elaborate designs on top of a cup of coffee. The froth is rich and thick, but because the designs take practice I don’t know yet if it’s my lack of experience or the froth, but I think it’s the former. There are videos on how to make those designs, but they make it clear that it requires practice. (Check out, "How to do a coffee milk design" by Sandy Prismatic.) One video mentioned the "micro-foam" that's required, but even if the Bon Jour foam isn't sufficiently micro to allow for the more intricate designs I'm getting closer to making it work on the less intricate ones.

I am giving this a 3 star because when this product was in working shape, it was AWESOME. I have gestational diabetes and was drinking almond milk all of the time in my coffee and this frother made it rich, creamy and very frothy! It made for DELICIOUS Cafe Au Lattes. Unfortunately, after only a few uses the screen mesh portion that makes the milk so frothy broke off with no way of fixing it. I tried to see if I could connect with customer service, but their website seems a bit wonky and it required me to put all of my contact info in saying they'd send me updates - Well, after seeing that their products break so easily I DEFINITELY do not want regular updates from them. I WANTED to connect with them to see if they could send me a replacement part OR just send me a new plunger. Anyhoo, disappointed beyond belief. Probably would have given this fewer stars except that I'm someone who likes to give people the benefit of the doubt and I want to believe all of their products do not just fall apart this easily. So, when it is working, it WORKS - and don't follow all fo the instructions, just put your milk in, up to the line and plunge away. I would go a few pumps all the way through the milk, and then a few pumps where I'm just pumping within the milk. I also never had a problem with microwaving the glass portion. I just took off the rubber base and plunger and microwaved for no more than 1:30 minutes. Since I didn't see any other reviews of this falling a part for others, I wanted to put in my two cents. AND if anyone knows how I can reach out to the manufacturer via email and not have to deal with signing up for updates, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The glass is quite thin… Like a science beaker… my real complaint is that the lid and the frothing mechanism are very cheap. After one use, I have to screw on the frothing mechanism because it comes unscrewed. The lid is a very thin metal; and while I haven't put it in the dishwasher, I feel it will rust if not treated with kid gloves.

Having said that, The item it'self works great! Makes thick froth from cold or warm milk. I've even used it with half-and-half and it's worked very well. Just hope I'm wrong on the durability of the product.

I bought this as a gift for my father, who had purchased a similar frother while on business in Europe several years ago (for much more money, I might add) and was heartbroken when the glass finally shattered.

As the name suggests, this is used to "froth" milk into a foam, which is great for those of us that occasionally enjoy a nice cappuccino (or latte) but have no desire to invest in an expensive and large machine for this purpose. The directions are simple: fill milk up to the fill line, move the little black knob up and down quickly for thirty seconds (or so), and then microwave for thirty seconds (or so). All of this is easily adjustable to personal preference.

We were surprised to find that this frother worked much better than my father's original frother, requiring less effort to get the milk foamy. Of course, it suffers from the same pitfall of being fragile, but as long as you don't drop it or knock it over you should be fine. The removable no-skid base helps.

Overall, we're very impressed with this frother. The quality of every piece is great, from the net to the plunger to the glass, and the froth it makes is great! I even ended up caving and ordering one for myself.
