Godzilla: Save the Earth, October 31, 2004
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Godzilla Save the Earth is a new game from Atari. It is the Sequel to the past Atari hit Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. Godzilla: Save the Earth has 20 featured monsters in it, 18 of which are playable. The playable monsters include Anguirus, Baragon, Destroyah, Gigan, Godzilla 90's, Godzilla 2000, Jet Jaguar, King Ghidorah, megaguirus, Megalon, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla (1993), Kiryu (Mechagodzilla 3[2002]), M.O.G.U.E.R.A., Mothra (Larva and Adult form), Orga, Rodan, and Spacegodzilla! Battra appears as a summon (like Mothra in G:DAMM). Even Ebirah makes an appearence in the story mode! Godzilla: Save the Earth has many new improvements and features. There is a 1 player story mode with random challenges, or mini-games. The cities are now 3 times larger than the previous game. Also there is a new stats feature, where when you find a token you can upgrade your monster. The most important new feature is the online multiplayer feature. which is why Godzilla: Save the Earth won't be coming to the Gamecube, because it doesnt support online play very much (even though it has 2 oline games). There are many more great things about this game I didn't mention, but if you like Godzilla, or liked Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, you'll definitely want this game.

Godzilla Rampages Again!, December 18, 2004
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Ah. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters-Melee. I remember getting that game like it was just yesterday... it featured 11 monsters, each with their own special abilities and movesets, and huge, fully destructible city arenas to clash in. It faithfully stuck to the roots of a B-Movie plot, whereas a race of aliens, the Vortaak, come to earth in an invasion force looking to suck the planet dry of it's resources for their "own purposes". For cooperation, they recruited, through the use of mind control, all of earth's monsters to destroy cities around the globe, furthering their intergalactic conquest. However, one monster (whichever one you choose to control) breaks free of his or her bind to the Vortaak, and goes to defeat the other monsters to restore control. Eventually, after the final battle with the Vortaak's "Ultimate Monster", the aliens retreat back to their home planet, leaving only one message for mankind... "We will return, Earthlings, we WILL return...". Now, two years later, the Vortaak are finally fulfilling their promise in Godzilla: Save the Earth for the Plastation 2 and Xbox game systems. The monster roster in GSTE is greatly increased, as the entire playable cast knocks out at 18 giant gods of destruction. Each character, this time around, has special abilities that he or she can either use or be taken advantage of (ex.- SpaceGodzilla's telekinetic powers, Baragon's burrowing ability, etc.), and even the adventure mode in the game has been tweaked to have Action stages, in which the player performs some other task than beating the radioactivity out of an opponent. Combo moves are a cinch to pull off, and each character's Beam Weapon serves as a super powerful long-range ticket to victory. Let Godzilla rise again.

Godzilla rules!, January 24, 2005
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Well I have been a long time Godzilla fan so when I saw this game come out I just had to buy it. I checked out the online reviews for the game and was surprised to see mediocre reviews by the leading authorities and higher reviews by people in general.
Let me tell you I LOVE this game! Any Godzilla fan will have a blast playing. You've already heard about the wide assortment of monsters, each with their own special moves, strengths, weaknesses etc... tons of cities (day or night) to play in and other fun challenges, but the game play is really where this game shines.
I have had several folks over since I bought this game and they all love this game even if they have never seen a Godzilla flick. What's more satisfying that throwing a building at gruesome jerk at the end of a long work day? If that doen't thrill you then why not charge up your death ray for maximum impact and damage and blast your opponent back 10 city blocks through buildings and cars?
You can even play in a team mode which is a blast if you want total mayhem on the screen. Play with or agaist friends. Team up against other monsters, recreate some of your favourite Godzilla flicks (why not team up Godzilla and Jet Jaguar VS Megalon and Gigan?), or go nuts and beat the hell out of three MechaGodzillas!
I give this game 5 out of 5 and am very glad I bought it. It's a great game to pick up and play for a half hour to get a thrill.
