I, as well as my bearded dragons, am extremely happy with this Zoo Med product. When I bought my dragons, I got a kit that included the basking light, UV light, etc., but I noticed that 1 of my dragons (a juvenile female) was getting emaciated and not wanting to eat at all. I got very worried and started to think a trip to the vet was necessary. I decided to wait the 2 days it takes Amazon to ship to see if this Basking Light Bulb would make a difference. The product arrived, I installed it in the morning and left it on for a full 14 hours. In the meantime, I tried feeding the dragons, but only the male would eat. I was about to give up, but gave it one more try after the automatic timer turned off the lamp --- sure enough, after 14 hours of good, Australia-like heat in the tank, Lee (my female) was hungry like a lion. I removed the male from the tank to give her a chance at all of the crickets. She ate them ALL and wanted more. Ever since, both dragons have been nice and healthy, shedding their skin and eating everything that we give them.

This is the light I use for my red-eared slider (an aquatic turtle). She's a foot long and lives in a heated 120-gallon aquarium. She loves basking under this light and it really helps keeps her shell nice and healthy by allowing her to completely dry off as she soaks up the rays and warmth. I keep it on for 12 hours each day but it lasts quite a long time, long enough that I can never even remember the last time I had to change it.

I like these lights and I order them often, but there in also lies my dislike with them. I run these lights normally 8 hours a day and they usually only last me a month to 3 months. 3 months is pushing it in my opinion. I have other night that I order for night use and I have only replaced those 3 times in the past 2 years. These lights provide good heat though and my dragons appreciate it.

One of my turtles was not eating, she would just sit and sleep all day on her rock with the old UVB lamp I had, I was worried that she was getting sick.

I got this lamp and about a day later she's a completely different turtle! so happy and active and she won't stop eating!

This lamp does get warm so be sure to keep it a good distance away otherwise you'll have some turtle soup cookin'

My Iguana was so happy to have the 150 Watt rather than the 100 watt-which was all the local pet store had on hand, it made a huge difference in his daily activity. I have been thru MANY light bulbs over the years. Zoo Med or Exo Terra, I really don't find one that lasts longer than the other. The one thing I do know is that the bulbs I bought 10+ years ago lasted A LOT LONGER than they do now. In the last 6 years I replaced more bulbs than I did in the first few years we had the Iguana.I remember the first bulb lasting well over a year! I wrote to one of the manufacturers about this and they responded that it was something I was doing (of course) and that there bulbs were the best in the industry blah blah blah.. What can you do? Nothing, your pet needs what it needs and we are at the mercy of the suppliers.

I heard that a flood light would work just as well as these, but that was not the case. I couldn't find a floodlight this high in watts either. So the basking area wasn't getting as warm as I would of liked it. I also tried a couple other basking lights to no avail. His basking area wouldn't get warm enough. I finally bought one of these, and my beardie is much happier. His basking area stays nice and hot, around 110F and is about 8 inches from the lamp. The reflective coating around the top of the light helps direct the heat to one area. I have a mesh top cage, and I keep a small towel over the top (opposite side of the light), to keep the warm air from escaping and a fluorescent UVB light light across the back. I bought it a month ago, and it's still going strong. No issues whatsoever.

I will be purchasing this again!

This is a great basking bulb! I use them for most of my reptiles that bask, this light bulb does not produce UV so you must have a separate bulb for that if your reptile requires it. They need it to stay strong and healthy. This bulb directs the heat into one spot which is great. Highly recommended bulb

They only get a second star for the quick refund with no return necessary.
I just received it today and within minutes of turning it on I turned to find it SMOKING! My Beardie was right there and I am very upset over this. I'm just thankful I was right there with him and able to turn it off before it busted!
