I loved this CD! Many of the songs I was familiar with in English, so the Spanish versions were fairly easy to learn. I love listening to and learning the newer songs. A good mix of contemporary and slightly older songs! Mas, por favor! (more, please!)

I have been a big fan of contemporary Christian music (CCM) since the late 1980s. As far as church music goes, and speaking as a church worship leader, I'm more traditional, preferring older hymns and choruses to more modern praise music, especially the "bubble-gum" type. However, I do own and enjoy both of Michael W. Smith's "Worship" albums, which are as much CCM as they are Praise and Worship.

I've been trying to learn Spanish on my onw for the past 4 years, and I recently purchased 4 albums of Spanish CCM music, 2 each by Marcela Gandara (well recommedned!), and Jesus Adrian Romero. After one of the purchases, this album was suggested by Amazon, and I decided to take a listen. Wow! Even though my Spanish is still very limited, I already know most of the songs in English, which helps alot.

One of my pet-peaves about modern praise music is that the songs on so many of the albums sound alike, reusing the same lead singers for all the songs, and with similar music styles - at least that's my impression. This album is not like that at all. It has a great variety of music and vocal styles. As with most albums, I don't necessarily care for every song, but there's enough songs here that I do like to make the price worth it.

If you enjoy very good praise and worship music, and know - or at least want to learn - Spanish, then I well recommend this album. If you haven't sampled modern Spanish Christian praise music before, even if you don't know any Spanish, then you're in for quite a blessing!

I have this CD as well as "Top 25 Exitos de Alabanza"
Note that the songs are 'covers' by a group of singers. Also, the lyrics themselves may differ from what you are used to as they have been translated differently from the original English. A few songs have been translated literally, rather than lyrically, so it comes off sounding grammatically and musically off. Also, Maranatha needs to proof read the printed lyrics. Sloppy editing with many orthography errors (spelling, accents ...).
