Looks great, fits well.

On my 2001 Blazer I needed to trim a plastic support piece behind the radio for it to fit, the support piece (part of the vehicle, not part of this kit) is made of a dense plastic and was originally meant to hold up the back of the OEM radio. I trimmed this plastic support level with the bottom of the opening in this Metra kit so it supports the weight of the aftermarket radio, and glued a little piece of felt to the top of it so the metal chassis of the radio would not squeak as it naturally vibrates a little from driving down the road.

The Metra kit works perfectly in this application and was easy to use.

Purchased it for my 98 blazer and it's a perfect fit. I wound up not using the insert but the dash kit sits flush and gives the whole thing I nice look. Makes me wish I went out and got a really good deck with it. Might have to pull the whole thing and reinstall.

Oh well.

This kit was used to replace the factory stereo in a 2000 S-10 p/u. I also used the 40-GM10 antenna adapter and 70-1858 radio wiring harness and did all the work in about 2 hours. This kit includes the radio housing bezel, 1/2 inch spacer and instruction manual. The plastic bezel is well made, sturdy and lined up perfectly with the factory mounting locations using factory screws. Due to depth limitations I had to use the spacer, so the stereo didn't mount flush with the dash as the factory unit did but was acceptable in appearance and fit. Overall quality was very good. The instructions were application specific, thorough, accurate and easy to understand. The only con with the kit is it doesn't include a bracket to mount and support the back of the stereo. The bezel is probably stong enough to hold the stereo on it's own but may not be enough to prevent the CD player from skipping on a rough road so I made a bracket to mount the rear. Metra has a bracket kit but I don't know if it includes one for this purpose. Regardless, I didn't have that kit and making a bracket was fairly easy using a small piece of aluminum angle. I highly recomend this kit based on Metra's high quality and ease of installation as well as Amazon's low price and fast shipping.

This is just what I was looking for. Most of the kits out there leave the headunit sticking out of the dash. I was looking for something that would set it flush for a more factory look. I did have to trim the tab at the back of the dash pocket for my Kenwood KIV-700 headunit to fit properly. No big deal though.
