What's deceiving about this item is the photo used in the description. It does NOT get shipped in a red can, but rather in a large, bucket-like container that contains the same sticks depicted in the smaller, red can. It would be helpful for the vendor to correct this issue. Aside from that, this is an excellent value for TetraCichlid sticks - buying it in bulk saves a significant amount over small, retail-priced cans from pet stores. Highly recommend - my two Oscars love it!

I have three Oscars and go through this stuff like crazy! One of my tanks has several small minnows as feeders, but my huge Oscar is lazy and prefers these over doing the work to catch the live food (he does snag one here/there). Most people say that if you feed an Oscar live food they won't want the pellets. But these are great!

I have purchsed these sticks in the past but Tetra changed the formula and now my Cichlids will not eat them.
Old formula were colored thes are all brown. I wish I would have known before and could have saved my money

Most go right to the bottom, a few may stay on the surface for a few seconds but certainly don't warrant being called floating food. 5.65 oz size the sticks are diameter of toothpick and about an inch long. The fish like them OK but the Tetra Koi soft sticks DO float, are a much better size and my Cichlids LOVE them. Compared labels and nutrient/ingredient wise these offer nothing that my Cichlids aren't already getting. I mix several foods together for variety . . . but wouldn't use this a the only diet.

I have been feeding my big cichlids this food for years. It used to be called Doromin, but it's the same food. The fish like it, it stays together for many hours in the water and it doesn't cloud the water. If I had to replace it with something else, I don't know what would even come close.
