It's a DUAL blade! That makes it *twice* as good as a single blade...I think. This is an average, useful grooming product for dogs with undercoats--the blade is a little lightwight, but seems to do the job. Until you purchase the Furminator, that is. I have to admit I haven't used this once since the Furminator arrived.

My golden retriever has an extremely dense coat and sheds year round. We were using a brush, but it was a lot of work and didn't do a very good job. i remembered that a loop like this worked well on my son's Siberian husky and tried this. It pulls out loose hair easily and my golden loves it. Because it is easy to use and our dog likes it , "brushing" is no longer the chore that it used to be.

Short gentle passes is all you need with this shedding blade (with the big teeth). This is great because all you're doing is pulling out extra fur that is already detached, you're not putting enough pressure to pull out fur so no worries that your furry baby will go bald from this tool. Also, the furminator relies on a blade so you're actually cutting off extra fur vs. this shedding just pulls out the loose fur including from the undercoat (I have a retriever). I had another one I think from Petsmart before but I kept having a problem of the two ends of the handle coming apart. I didn't have this problem with this particular shedding blade. One note: you may get some excess dandruff on the blade so clean it after each session or else it gets disgusting and stuck on.

This is a fantastic "follow-up" grooming tool. I have a shiba inu (double coat fur) that sheds ALL year long. What I do is give her a warm bath, then use the furminator once shes dry to take off the bulk of fur, and then use this blade at the end which gets the bits of loose fur. She still sheds but this blade made a difference in the amount of shedding.
