Fits my 20 gallon long tank perfectly. It is the Aqueon brand which is what I own for my other tanks. It has a nice fit, nice big opening front for feeding. I can even do water changes without removing the entire hood unless I need to clean the back gravel. Overall this is a great item if you do not want to buy the kit. I purchased a Tetra 20 gallon long tank locally to avoid any issue with breakage due to shipping.

It came quick and it wasn't broken when I got it. The shipping package was wonderful. It came with a light already installed, so saved money on that. I put in on the tank and it fit great! Now my fish has a light again...it is so much brighter as well. Easy to put together. My only complaint is the pieces you need to snap off where not that easy to snap. I had to use a pair of scissors and a knife, but did get them off.

Had one of the LED hoods which was a poorly engineered piece of junk. This is the second one of this model I have and the last one lasted five years. It allows easy access to feed the fish or do routine cleaning and installs securely and easily which the LED one did not. Has a pleasant color temperature that is easier on the eyes than the LED;s. Surface is smoother and does not accumulate mineral deposits like the LED hood which sweated and permitted water to get on the hood. On top of all other factors this hood was less costly.

Beautiful! It fits my 20 gallon long aquarium perfectly. I like the color of the light, it's a soft blue'ish-white. It's not as bright as my other one was, but this seems less annoying to the fish, while still providing bright enough light for viewing and plant growth. It's soft and natural. The flap is nice and wide for cleaning, feeding, moving around ornaments, etc. The profile of the hood perfectly covers my filter, the only thing I wish it had were a choice for if you want the cutouts on the right side or left side. It only has left side cutouts and it would've looked better on the right side for my placement/design, but that's ok. I like that it has cord cutouts/holders so you can hide the cords underneath the hood if you want.

I've had several aquariums and always end up getting this basic configuration. I wish there was different graduations for the filter cutouts. I ended up having to make it too big because the smaller cutout was a half inch too small. Also, it was much more difficult breaking the tabs to get the cutout separated than I expected. I could've, maybe should've, taken a saw to it instead. I chose the florescent instead of LED as too many people complained of LED burnouts. The florescent is more expensive to run, but easy to change.
