This rack bag is very well built. It is much better constructed than the 25 year old Calzone case it is replacing, so I expect to not have to ever replace it. It is large enough to hold full-size boxes, in this case a 2U QSC power amp which is a bit more than 12" deep. Recessed rails in the front protect knobs. Rear panels are easily accessible and there are feet to protect the zippered rear flap. Lots of pockets and very nice rack screws & washers included.

I am a professional bass player. I have found that hard, molded racks develop various buzzes over time, which is why I use a soft-covered rack bag. This Gator bag has even improved my tone, believe it or not, because (I think) it is so solid and well padded it doesn't resonate at all. I see that most of my soft cases are from Gator these days. Highly recommended.

These rack bags are quite nice and a pretty good deal for the money. The storage pouch on the side is handy for those little things that go along with the gear - antennas, earbuds, whatever else you might have.

I gig frequently, and I've only ever had one issue with these: The back needs a little support where the feet are. One of mine loosened up, so I reinforced it with two blocks of 2x2 cut to the right height and painted flat black, one on each side. That completely fixed the problem. In fact, now whenever I buy one, I make that mod before mounting any gear. Saves me the trouble of doing it later. :)

I own several Gator products and they all are well built and well-finished. You do pay more, but I've always felt my equipment was well protected.
The 2 rack bag is built solidly. The zippers on the flaps are large and high quality and the internal frame seems dimensionally stable and able to withstand a lot of punishment.The mounting frame is well-finished and tolerances and fit are tight.
I've owned this bag for over two years and it has been subject to a lot of abuse as well as constant removal and changeout of rack components. It has held up exceptionally well both externally and internally. I almost feel I could stand on it and it would support my weight, even though I'd never try that!
For "soft" bags, Gator seems to be the best in my experience. I never worry about my components being damaged, and isn't that what you buy a bag for?
This bag is designed well and well-made!

5 stars but gave it 4 because: Actual OUTER dimensions are 16.1/2" Deep x 21" Wide x 5.1/2" High. Although it's spec'd description says: "Product Dimensions: 14 x 19 x 3.5 inches" So yea, it is larger than what I was looking for. I can live with it, but for a short shallow rack effect unit, its too deep. Larger units will be just fine installed in this case. It sturdy and well constructed. The other offering available 12.5 x 19 x 3.5 inches is the Gator GR-RACKBAG-2U Lightweight Rack Bag. They might even have a shorter one. Rock & Roll

Made out of plywood covered in nylon bag material. The zipper and all of the handles and whatnot are pretty tough. The whole thing is very rigid, like you would expect from a proper rack case. Holds my axe fx and some other goodies quite safely and the strap really helps for packing gear around.

This is a very nice bag. Even though it's a soft exterior shell, there is a hard lining that makes it very sturdy. All the stitching and zippers appear to be very well constructed and I would expect this bag to take years of abuse.
