I play Guitar and sing normally but sometimes, I play Cajon too and have been a lover of Hand Drums for many years.. I bought these to play my Cajon with and Love them so much more than brushes.. The rubber rings really help get a little slap and boom on the bass if I need it and the bristles give me a subtlety that brushes give me. I swear, with these, I can throw and Audix D6 in front of my Cajon and it sounds as full as a drum kit. I also put an LP Fingershot around each one right below the black handle.

I like 'em. They are very good for warming up quietly at practice....or for playing something VERY softly in music scenes. They also make a nice comfort change for the old hands. Only reason I didn't give five stars is because they are a bit too soft sounding and they a a bit too big around...also, they don't crash or ride a cymbal very pronounced at all. But, like I said, great for SUPER quiet situations.

I bought these to add different coloration to my drumset work with my Jazz quartet. They are pretty big around and take up a lot of room in my stick bag, but the sound is not like anything else that I use, ie; wire brushes, sticks, mallets, vater nylon. Sound variations are a good thing, so I am glad that I bought them.

I really like the versatility of these for many surfaces over traditional wire or nylon brushes. I can control them well on many different types of percussion instruments which is mainly what I use them for. For kit playing, I prefer wire or nylon for jazz and shuffles etc..
You can roll the two o-rings on each up or down to taylor a softer or stiffer response. Often I'll use one brush with a softer feel than the other depending on the surfaces I am using. They are a little fat at the handle, but doesn't take long to adapt. I really like these.

I purchased these to complement my Vater Cajon Brushes. It turns out that they feel the same diameter and offer ALMOST the same sounds. These broomsticks play a little softer than the Vater Cajon brushes, and give a nicer "swish" sound than the harder plastic used in the Vaters. I don't see these Broomsticks lasting too long, but I bought them for a specific purpose and that was met in my ears. You can get a nicer "smush" sound than plastic brushes of this type, and you can get a different type of rim shot. I am more interested in different tones and sounds for recording and not really playing out, so these Broomsticks add another color to my sound palette. These sticks work similarly to my Vater Cajon brushes on the cajon, but are just a bit softer. I could see these sticks being torn apart with vigorous playing, but I took that into account.

I ordered these to have something low volume to use with my cajon and cocktail kit. I like them for both, however I plan on ordering the smaller diameter version of these to see if it would be a tad less unwieldy to use with the kit in particular. I like the range of sounds they make and I like that they keep the volume level low as I play in a trio in smaller lounge-y type venues. They do shed right from the get go, and I have recently done a duct tape fix to see if I could extend their life a bit, since I only use them as sticks with the bands forward. I'd give them 5 stars if they were a little easier to hold over-hand and a little more durable.

Brooms are fun to use, big and thick, different, and sound really good on the snare.
Ultra-quiet too, more so than any other type of brush, multi-rod, or other light volume stick.

However, I can't get much of anything out of the ride cymbal, like when playing a straight 4/4 beat.
And the crash cymbals have very little attack, and so sound a bit "late".
Anyone else notice this?

They DO sound very good on bass and open tones with hand percussion as well.

Edited:
Okay, used the Broomsticks again at a jam session in my studio with some "metal" musicians doing acoustic version of their songs.
The Brooms did very well. Yes, the cymbals were soft, but I'm learning better how to attack them to get the most.
Warming up to them, they are better than I'd first thought. Starting to frizz out a bit, but holding up pretty well.
I like 'em a lot!

Well, these are basically little brooms. I like the sounds they can create. The moveable bands allow for a loose, scratchy sound or a tighter, thumpier sound and all in between. There is no way you could damage a drum head with these. I've used them on frame drums, snare, bongos, pillows and most of all my practice pad which makes some interesting sounds. They are about as long as standard drum sticks and fairly thick. For some reason I thought they would be pretty small and thin. Well made and I see no reason they shouldn't last quite a while. Nice product.
