I use cricket quencher to feed and offer water to my pet cockroaches, and they love it. It works well.
If you find your quencher gel is drying out quickly, try placing it in the shade of your container. If that doesn't work, then re-hydrate them with a bit of water!

This is my 2nd order from Amazon and I've been using it for years. Great product and the crickets seem to enjoy it. It's the least I can do for the crickets leading up to their inevitable meeting with my adult bearded dragon. :-)

Much better than water. No drowned crickets. Also calcium fortified for gut loading. The crickets swarm all over the jello-like clumps. They dry out after a few days. My first bottle is still half full after more than a month. Very reasonably priced.

I buy this for a better price on Amazon and free shipping when combined with other products. I suppose this is better for your reptile/amphib if it has the calcium fortification. I use this in a small cricket box so they can have access to water. Easy to use.

Keeping my little guys well fed is important and calcium deficiency is the leading cause of many health issues in herps. This calcium feeding solution not only prevents your feeder insects from drowning in water but ensures that your herps have good calcium levels essential to their health. If you need a feeder base for crickets, beetles or other feeder insects I highly recomend this stuff.

Pros:
- Easy to dish out
- About 10,000 crickets, and only one has drowned in this...apparently he crawled between a larger chunk and the side of the lid and suffocated.
- Good for gut loading
- This is what I give my crickets 24 hours + when they are moved downstairs to the 'about to be fed to my bearded dragon (Little Monster). I make my own calcium water for day to day use for the 'mass" of crickets.
- I believe I read somewhere calcium helps crickets breed, if you breed your own crickets.

Simple facts:
- They dehydrate and thicken if your crickets don't consume this quickly enough, but can you really get upset when something that is about 98% water dehydrates? It's kind of expected.

Cons:
- None come to mind...for the number of crickets this will water I can't even complain about the price.

The main reason I use this is to keep crickets from drowning. I have a large tank ecosystem inhabited by leopard geckos, superworms, and leopard geckos. My geckos like to lie in the gel when they are molting, which keeps the crickets from using it (and turns the geckos' feet yellow). I keep a separate water dish for the geckos, so I just have to make sure it's next to something the crickets can stand on when they drink. Also, I feed the crickets and superworms oatmeal, and if the oatmeal gets into the gel, the combination smells terrible if it's not cleaned out within 24 hours.

We have a fire belly frog and we have to keep live crickets for him and this is a great alternative to using the bottled water. Normally I use the Fluker's 16-Ounce Cricket Quencher Original Formula (blue) and I really like it, but this time I decided to try this one with the calcium because at the time it was an add on item (great price). However, I don't like this one as well because unlike the original blue formula that just dries up into small pieces, this one tend to turn an ugly brown and clump up ( not pleasant to clean up). So I will go back to the blue formula next time.
