I bought these as a cheaper alternative to the Seachem 'The Bag' filter bags to hold Purigen filter media. They are sufficient, although I have noticed that the mesh is a little too big as some of the Purigen occasionally escapes. Doesn't seem to do any harm to my tank though. I've been using them for ~3 months and they are holding up fine, no holes or tears in the bag. These also seem to be able to hold up to the Purigen recharge process which involves soaking them in a bleach solution for 24 hours. Overall, I can't complain.

These work wonderfully with my filter and I like that I can choose what media to put in them and how much. I have a 20 gallon hexigon tank and I like to add my owner media. The zippers are sturdy and the mesh is not too big, but not too small.

Decent small media bag...the drawstrings are not worth using. I use a small cable tie instead. They don't hold much, but they are a good way to add fresh charcoal to my power filters. I rinse the main cartridge and then use them over and over till they cannot pass water easily. The bags keep a fresh supply of charcoal or ammo carb in the filter. I was using my wife's discarded panty hose and this was fine, but I decided to just buy some cheap bags. If I need more bags I will probably get a larger size with a (hopefully) more manageable closure.
