I got this because my 3.5 year old cat was starting to get gingivitis. She had a red line around the gum line. I researched very carefully and most of the products out there contain harmful chemicals. I figured if it is not safe for humans to swallow how could it be safe for my kitty? This product is safe it contains only baking soda and a tiny amount of water cleanser that is considered safe for both humans and animals and is used to treat water for human consumption. My cat did not have bad breath or any other health problems and I just wanted to treat her gingivitis to keep her healthy. I have been adding this to her filtered drinking water, a teaspoon per 8 oz of water as instructed for a week. This is amazing stuff!! The red line around her gums has disappeared and she once again has healthy pink gums!! I am so pleased and will continue to use this product for the rest of her life! Some reviews say this product does not work and it probably won't if your cat has an illness. Bad breath is a sign of illness so take your cat to the vet. But for routine dental health this product is awesome. I tried to use a natural gel and brush her teeth as well, but she hates that of course. This is a great way to protect her dental health!!

I admit it, I was skeptical of this product, but I was also desperate. My cat (who, as I have said in many other reviews, is an embarrassment to his species in terms of intelligence) has had bad breath for years because he doesn't chew dry food. Even those expensive treats meant to reduce plaque/odor go straight down the hatch, never touching a tooth. I eventually tried supplementing with wet food, which helped for a while before all sorts of oral bacteria got the memo and moved in, just making it worse. Did I mention that he's a Russian Blue mix and has those cute Siamese traits like licking EVERYTHING?
So not only did the furry demon child smell like throat fungus, now so did my hands and everything in my house. "Tartar treats" didn't work. I wasn't going to brush his teeth, because I value my life. Dental Fresh was my last resort. Figuring it was worth a try, I decided to order a bottle and pray. After all, this cat grew up on stagnant rainwater; surely, at least he couldn't mind it much.
The first thing I noticed was that his water was disappearing much more quickly than normal, as well as staying clean longer - no more scum and dirt in the bottom of the bowl. Cats have a notoriously low thirst drive, and he drinks so much more with the added Dental Fresh that I think the extra water is helping in and of itself. It did take a couple of weeks to get results on the odor front, but have a little patience. It's worth the wait. After almost three weeks, kitty's breath is back to a much more reasonable level, and he doesn't leave everything he licks smelling like death itself. Dental Fresh is now a staple in my house, and we're both happier for it. Thanks, SynergyLabs!

I bought this to try but did not expect it to do so much good for my cat. My cat is older, diabetic, has bad teeth and a sinus infection. He can clear a room just by exhaling! Not only does this keep his water dish clean looking all day but his breath has improved dramatically. He always drank water easily and I was worried about adding anything foreign to it but he likes it and does not seem to notice anything unusual when he drinks. There is no way my cat will allow any sort of tooth brushing or other dental care and I won't have him put under at the vet's for formal tooth treatments. He is too old to upset unnecessarily and this seemingly minor addition to our routine has had great benefits. I wish I had discovered this years ago and started him on it earlier. I strongly recommend for cats of all ages, especially mature cats who can use some dental and breath improvement.

They actually do love and appreciate this product. They have all been drinking extra water as a result. The two male cats were upset about their breath and mouth cleanliness. They love to have this in their water, drink it up gratefully. Oh, their mouths are much cleaner. They are quite pleased with having a better quality of life from the stuff in their water.
