I use this water bottle for my cockatiels that live in an aviary outside. I had one for almost 10 years but it eventually gave out on me. I tried several other brands, but was so happy to find this again. It does not get moldy and does not leak. The birds don't have a problem drinking out of it. I hope I can find it again, if I need it.

This is BY FAR the best water bottle on the market. I use it for my pet rats and it works wonders; the water level is easily identifiable, it is impossible for the rats to chew holes in, easy to drink from, and never once has leaked. It's lasted in perfect condition from about 2009 to present day 2011.
It's great with the in-cage holder, too.

Oasis water bottles are MUST-BUYS. Fabulous.

I have been buying all types of water bottles for birds, but this one is the best. The balls are heavy, which prevents leakage and the green coloration does help preserve water better than clear ones (still need to wash them weekly though). The only criticism I have for these bottles is that sometimes the suction does not always work (like other bottles) so you do have to check to make sure water is flowing.

After finding these bottles suggested by a breeder, I ordered one for my hedgehog. She doesn't struggle to drink from this the way she does from other waterbottles. There is occasionally leaking but the amount is minor compared to the benefit of having a clean water source that doesn't make my hedgie struggle desperately for water.

I bought several of these and they worked great for several years then one of my Canaries suddenly died. It had water in it but the water wouldn't come out. I found this out after my bird had died. I didn't think that the water bottle could stop working and I knew it had water so I naturally assumed my bird had plenty of water. Obviously I found out too late! I had the thought to check the water bottle after my bird had passed to see if water was coming out-and the water wouldn't come out even though it was full! Well, since I had a couple of water bottles that were still working (I checked) I continued to use them...thinking maybe since the bottle had been a bit slanted (not straight up and down-maybe that impeded the water from flowing properly) that maybe that was the problem. Wrong! I just refilled a bottle I knew was working-tested it too, when I put it on the cage I swear I saw the bird drinking water. All is good right? Wrong! Just found my Canary on the bottom of the cage-thought to test the water bottle that i knew was working just 24 hours before and it wasn't working! Now another beloved Canary will have died due to another one of these water bottles malfunctioning. Not only am I out a wonderful bird but also an expensive bird! I will never use these bottles again!!! Beware!

I bought this to replace the small plastic Lixit bird bottles I had previously bought, which had fit on my lovebirds cage but not so much my conure's. It was just sorta, hanging on there, so I decided to go with this one because it looked sturdier. I was so wrong. The thing is real pretty, it has little floral engravings on it and it's a very pretty color... I give it that, but that's about all I can give it.

There were, first of all, no directions included. It says sorta vaguely, on the little piece of cardboard the bottle is attached to, that you can use EITHER the wire or the spring mechanism to hold it on to the cage. It doesn't really say how this is done or anything, and it doesn't include any sort of useful image either. I tried using both latches separately but the bottle just seemed to be hanging precariously on the cage and was generally just really unstable. I ended up using the spring to hold the bottle from underneath and the wire to hold it to the cage. It worked for about two days before my >1lb conure unlatched it and it fell to the ground and the bottle shattered. I mean, that was sort of the point of my buying a plastic bottle, so I wouldn't have to worry about it shattering if it did fall. Waste of money. Also, the thing leaks, a lot. Even the tiny cheapo plastic Lixit bottles were better than this thing.

I ended up buying the nicer glass Lixit bottle that have much more stable latching mechanisms that my little guy couldn't hope to undo in his wildest parrot dreams. Sigh, but it was so pretty...
