At our animal shelter, this toy is a big favorite. It is shiny, colorful, lightweight and makes a crinkling sound when crushed or batted. I would give it five stars except for the fact that if the toy gets batted into the water dish, the dye from the toy will leak into the water, discoloring the water, and the cats will not drink the water anymore. I am not sure if the dye is toxic or not, so I'm glad the cats don't drink it.

I would not recommend this toy for cats confined in a small space with an open water dish, but otherwise, this is a great item!

Unfortunately I had to throw away my cat's favorite toy! The balls release color when in contact with liquid. I saw my cat dropping one of the balls ( that happened to be green) in her water bowl and the water turned green.
Then I opened my cat's mouth and her mouth and tongue were completely green. I'll try to contact the manufacturer because this should not happen.
I used other mylar balls that did not release any color so I'll definitely not order this item again.

My cat loves these things. Just picking one up and crinkling it will bring her running from where ever she is to pounce on the ball when I throw it. Unfortunately she chases them so manically that they 'disappear' eventually (ie get stuck in out of the way places so I can't find them anymore) and I seem to always be buying her a new set of these to pounce on.

My kitten really enjoys these things knocking them around, under dressers, tables, etc., and then they disappear only to reappear days later... If I had to find a gripe it would be that they are made of synthetic material I would prefer paper because the cats end up chewing on them and sometimes swallow those pieces...if all of them were made of paper it would be easier to digest

These "crunchy-foily" balls, as I call them, are our half-Coonie kitty's favorite toy. Even though I can't throw them very far because they're so light, he fetches them (I'll try to post a video). But we have to supervise him with these crunchy-foily balls because once he unraveled one to its component mini-sheets of foil and then appeared to be trying to eat the sheets. He also purposely dunks his toys into his water bowl, so we have to lock him in a room during play sessions and then make sure we put away his favorite toys. I was disappointed/alarmed to find out that another reviewer said the ball's coloring bled out into the cat's mouth after it got wet. This concerns me, especially if this product is made in China. I'm giving the product 3 stars until I check on this further. At least these balls have been great for photography sessions--we just crinkle one, and our kitty looks right at the camera.

My cat has always loved the sound crinkle balls and toys make and since she lost her old set of crinkle balls, they are likely in the blackhole known as under the stove or fridge I went ahead an purchased these crinkle balls.

They arrive as described color wise in the product listing. The reason for the 3 star rating is because one of the mylar balls started to bleed dye on the floor after it went into a water dish. Give Savvy Tabby US1389 04 4-Pack Mylar Balls Cat Toy a try instead. A bit more money but they did not bleed after being exposed to water and moisture.

only 1 of my 2 cats have shown any interest at all in these mylar toys. Shes attracted to the crinkle sound right before i throw it but they dont go very far cause they're so light + they stop moving almost immediately when they hit the floor so she loses interest pretty quickly. As with most cat toys, you just never know until u get it home. 1 cats treasure is another cats yawn.

A foster kitten dunked one of these in the water bowl and the water filled with dye. Putting them in their mouths must surely release some of the dye with their saliva. I still buy them on occasion because they are a favorite with my blind cat (easy for her to chase because of the crinkle noise) but not as often as I did before I saw what happened in the water bow.
