As it's FDA approved, this makes a great 13 gallon fermenter for 11 gallon beer batches. Two quick holes drilled in the top, (one for an airlock, the other to be used to push CO2 in to transfer to kegs), and it's ready to go. The inside is a bit convoluted at the top thanks to the handles and threads for the lid, but it's easy enough to clean. The lid screws down nice and tight, and the handles are secure (molded into the plastic), enough to lift it up with 80+ lbs of wort inside.

This wont help most dog food storers out there, but hopefully it helps any errant homebrewers that stumble by...

WOW!!! I bought this thing and when it came to my door I was pleasently surprised by its size. Now I can store thoes Costco/BJ's Sized Dog Chow bags of food in it without any problem. Also the image shown is grossly wrong. The container is taller than what is displayed and can hurt sales from that point alone. I will post some accurate photos to better illustrate this and hopefully sheds a better light on a superb product. Neat and tidy! It does what it was made to do immensely.

This unit is set apart from others in that there is no plastic locking flap that will eventually break from use or rubber weatherproofing strips that wear out. Instead, it's threaded like a jar. Wide mouth allows your whole hand to easily fit inside when scooping out food at low volume. Solid timeless design.

I use this to custom mix and store large amounts of cat food for my 5 cats (soon to be 6). It is truly air-tight and I think it could stand up to anything. If you have a huge dog who gets into food this would easily stand up to any abuse. I bet a bear could not get into this if I stored my bird seed outside. Highly recommended.

We're getting ready to buy a second "Vault" to hold puppy food; we've been using our first Vault to store adult dog food. The Vault is the only food storage item we've ever found that you can leave out there in the garage with four large dogs, and they can bite it, knock it over, push it around, jump on it, spill their water bowl by it, etc., and nothing affects the contents or allows them to access the contents. It is truly airtight and watertight, but easy to open and close rapidly with a "spin" of the large cap, which has a well-designed screw-on system.

I used to use jumbo clips to close the 50lb pounds of dog food, this product has eliminated that! I mix my dog foods, and I used have to separate bags open to pull food from each, now, I can just combine them and keep them airtight together. Checkout my photos, I was able to fit a 50lb bag and a 30lb bag of dog food....what a difference, and it is a great space saver.

Airtight claims seem to hold true under a water test, as I washed the inside thoroughly before I put the dog food in. Item feels durable and plastic is thick enough to keep the food secure. Packaging was sufficient and fast with Amazon prime (as always), overall a bargain, I can imagine these containers selling for twice the price at the local big box stores.

The 30 pound vault holds my 30 pounds of Taste of the Wild dog food just fine, with enough room to spare to toss in the scooper too. The lid is nice and snug. The plastic on some of the corners is thin enough that I don't know if I'd trust this outside with the squirrels and mice but inside, it's just fine. My biggest concern is ants and they won't be able to get in here!

I buy a premium dog food for my sheltie, and I wanted the best container available to keep it safe from ants. I think I've found it! No bugs (or mice!) to be seen, I don't think they even know there's dog food in there.

I *was* having a problem opening the Vittles Vault; I'd try to unscrew the lid, but the container would slide on the floor in the direction I was turning, so I'd have to try to brace the container with my feet while turning the lid.... it was kind of a hassle. Turns out I was overtightening the lid when closing the Vittles Vault. The manufacturer says to just spin the lid, and when it stops, it's closed. Oh. Well. Boy, is my face red. Now it's much easier for me to open the lid, and it still keeps out ants.

The 1 1/4 cup measurement scoop that's included is the perfect size for a daily ration for my 30 lb sheltie. I feed her a small-sized kibble (Canidae All Life Stages), and this container fits the 40 lb bag with a little room left over. I can't imagine that it'd hold 50 lbs of my kibble, but since my kibble comes in 40 lb bags, it works great for me.

I love it, and so does my sister, who bought one to store her cat food in.
