These are great switches. Will it make a difference in the sound of your instrument? No, but it will definitely help with reliability of your electronics. You can never go wrong with a good USA made switch as a replacement or upgrade. Always rock solid and offered at a good price.

it is what it says, it looks and feels robust, it includes the screws and one white stratocaster model tip and one black barrel telecaster tip.

BUT being a 3 way switch it easily gets stuck in the middle of two positions. if you don't be careful while switching it will get stuck between positions and you will have a 5 way switch effect. and this is how musicians back in the day used to do it to get the effect of the middle positions!!!!

I checked the wheel on the roller blade, it is turning but it gets stuck on the bump where it suppose to jump. I bought two of those, will try the other one too, maybe this one is faulty.

Cheers!!

I have a c.1986 C.F.Martin Stinger tele style electric guitar with a neck single-coil and bridge humbucker. It had an original Asian made switch that needed to be replaced. I got the Fender one and found the screw holes were wider than my stock switch. The Fender is undoubtedly designed for fully US made guitars due to it's larger size. The new switch looked well made so I just decided to drill-out wider spaced holes on the plate and I'm glad I did. It was a breeze wiring in the new one (this was my first time ever attempting it). I just googled a wiring diagram and there it was. It works just as it should and is more robust than my original. I'm very satisfied.

It's a switch. It switches between three things. What more can you want really? I suppose you could ask for more if you're looking for a five way switch, but then you're just in the wrong spot.

I didn't bother doing a whole lot of research on this before purchase. I figure the fine folk at Fender have probably made a few switches in their day, so they probably know a thing or two about it. I just wanted something that would switch between pickups anyway, and this does it.

Even with my limited skills, it was pretty easy to wire up after looking up a few schematics online. If you have halfway decent motor skills, and an equally acceptable soldering iron, you shouldn't have any trouble. Unless of course you're like me and wire it backwards, which still works, but looks a little funny. I just say it gives it character, and pretend I meant to do it that way, so don't tell anyone.

That's not why I took off the star though. That was my fault. I took off a star for two other reasons.

1) While the mounting holes lined up fine, the screws were a little wide for the plate for my guitar (affinity tele). I had to drill out the mounting plate on the guitar to widen the holes. After that it mounted fine.
2) Whatever the plastic thingy that goes onto the top is called, doesn't fit snugly. More than once it has fallen off while switching, and I've had to race my dog for it. I could put a dab of glue on it, but that just creates a hassle if I ever decide to remove or replace the switch later.

Other than that, you really can't go wrong with this item. It switches as promised, and feels pretty solid.

I dropped one of these in an old Jackson Dinky when the original switch began flaking out. Fits perfectly! Works great, too! The switch itself appears and feels very solidly made--much better than the original switch in my guitar. It comes with a more traditionally-shaped white cap and a beefier black cap (as shown in photo). I like the fatter cap, but if you slide it down the metal blade all the way, the switch doesn't feel completely locked in when switched to either extreme position (pure neck or pure bridge). I just kept it 1-2mm up from all the way slid in, and it works fine. The beefy cap is nice because it's probably less likely to become worn and loose or break like the more slender, traditional caps tend to do after several years.

Update: after using it a bit, I noticed that the beefy cap loosens up a bit and doesn't work so well without a 'scooped' pickup switch area. Again, this is on a Jackson with a completely flat face. So go ahead and just throw the skinny white knob on if the beefy one hits the body before the switch is engaged at either extreme. I still feel it's a very solidly built piece of hardware and I can can wholeheartedly recommend it. Mine was made in Mexico.

Part was shipped quickly and was installed with no problems. Definitely an upgrade to the cheap model found in most Squire models.

This is a great, basic, Fender 3 way switch. It works great and does its job without fail. It's not the old school style with the spring, but it works just fine without introducing switching noise in to the circuit when the guitar is plugged in. And it is a damn site better than those imported switches available out there.

Well made, but I dislike this style of tele switch. Also, and I knew this, but standard strat lever covers don't work. I ended up using a high end super switch for my project.

Rotary switches have never really been my cup of tea though.
