I've been searching for SO LONG for the right tom sound, and this is the first head to get close. It is a controlled, low, oomph of a sound that is very well suited for heavy music. It doesn't go above and beyond, though. Tuned high and it sounds choked and weird, making this heads a one trick, low tuned pony.
