In total, I have bought 6 of these MX882 mixers for use in an amateur radio repeater linking application. For the price, they cannot be beat. We use them to mix audio on a link bus to and from 4 wire audio cards.

Application note: If you use these in a similar application which uses 600 ohm impedance, you might want to open it up and solder 620 ohm resistors across XLR terminals 2 & 3 so it will present a near 600 ohms load to your other equipment and make your system levels more consistent.

I have had one unit fail (-15V regulator failed in the power supply section, I replaced the regulator and brought it back to life). One other unit has a problem with flaky push button switches which causes the audio cut out every blue moon (this is solved by pushing the button on and off to clean the contacts).

If you're wondering, I have not had any RFI issues with this unit. Provides very clean audio.

I needed an affordable audio distribution amp for the recording output of my church's sound console, and this really does the job!

The unit is so flexible, that it is a little hard to comprehend how it works. But with a purpose in mind, I downloaded the owner's manual before buying the unit, and figured out that it would do exactly what I needed.

My application: I have a stereo signal that I wanted to route to several different devices. I needed isolation between each output device, because they don't co-exist well: some are balanced, some are unbalanced, and one puts some noise on the input line. Three outputs needed to be stereo and one needed to be mono. I was able to easily configure this mixer to do the job, with one output channel to spare!

The signal is very clean - I could detect no introduced noise of any kind. And the LED's on the input and each output channel are a nice touch, providing a quick visual indication that everything is working.

All in all, I'm very pleased with it.

I am a Sound Engineer at a large church. After installing a new Yamaha MG32FX for the Choir system, the signal strength was far higher than the prior mixer. We needed a way to tame the Main Send. Also, we integrate several systems downstream for use outside the building, in the Narthex, recording, etc. Some components are balanced & some unbalanced. When the Choir system was off, we were experiencing a hum/buzz in the downstream feed, but now it's gone. Plus, with the new splitter I get several free balanced line-outs (mono, or stereo if you pan 2 channels apart I believe.) This is great for recording from the post-mixer feed, without invading the Main send to DBX DriveRack & power amps. All is well agian...Thanks Behringer!

I got tis to run (5) Amps because 3 of them can't Daisy chain like Behringer's Nu6000 Amp and the Seismic Audio. MBG-4000 Amp so with this Mixer/Splitter I can hook up 7 amps to it. Thanks Behringer for another good product.

I work for a webcasting company in NYC, and we were using smaller behringer mixers to adjust audio on a multitude of sources. They took up a lot of space, and weren't rack-mountable. We also didn't need any EQ or anything. With our a/v switchers, we do have audio adjustments, but some of our sources are sometimes a bit too low. Our specific use for this unit was to boost multiple audio signals by about 10db. No mixing or splitting is needed, though it has the features.

We haven't noticed any hisses, pops, or other abnormalities in the audio.

We have now bought three of them! For a hundred bucks, you can't beat it.

This is a great and inexpensive universal splitter/mixer. It solved an issue I was having connecting my laptop for DJ'ing to my speakers. For the price you can't beat it. I bought a second one to outfit my secondary DJ rig as well because I was so pleased.

I use this a channel "expander" for my audio mixer. I needed to bring in multiple audio sources that I could control their volume independently. (Phone, tablet, pc's, etc.) The rack mountable MX882 allows me to put up to 8 devices on one fader.

This also works in both modes simultaneously. For example you can have 6 channels in mixer mode and 2 in splitter mode. A reason you might want to do this is if you want this component to output a mixed signal and output a signal at 2 different levels.

This component imparts no noticeable noise at reasonable levels.

This is a great box, I use it as a distribution amplifier in professional sound applications. Go to the Behringer web site, find this product and download the manual. You really need to look at the signal flow to understand how this box works, but when you do you will realize there is nothing for under $1000 that can do all the distribution amp capabilities with such fidelity. it also has mixing capabilities but I don't need those.

All the inputs and outputs are balanced and go to +21 dB, it's a great way to split parallel feeds to send to powered subwoofers that already have preset low pass filters, this box gives me separate level controls for each of my subwoofer feeds. The metering is nice when you are trouble shooting something like "why is there no sound?", a glance at all the metering on here tells you where the problem isn't, I love having lots of meters to see where my sound is traveling. When you're working a live show that can be invaluable when seconds seem like hours.

For $100 this is an invaluable tool, even for $400 but don't tell Behringer.

Good music to all.
