Take care of it (don't let it touch the ground) and it will last a long time. I've got some of these from Amazon.com. I've pretty much reduced a tree to scrap--I'm still working on it. It's cheaper than a chain saw.

I feel you should set it down on something besides the bare ground--grass covered seems okay. Careful when you cut those roots out of the ground--it will dull the blade. Try not to let the blade get burning hot--it doesn't seem to loose its' edge or anything but does seem to weaken the steel back up in the reciprocating where it's attached. I broke a couple of mine there, I think because of the heat.

Finally, I do recommend these UGLY blades.

I bought this for a gift. I have used this blade for pruning up to 5" limbs off of trees. It cuts green wood great. Don't try to use a woodworker's blade for this task. Note that the tooth profile looks like a bow saw blade which is made to cut green wood.

These blades have saved me so many hours of cutting as well as burning up regular blades. If you really need to get rid of a tree or do a rough cut on a timber(I use a lot of 4x4"s), this is the blade to use. You will burn up your saw if the blade can't do the job.

When used on any sort of green wood these blades are the best bar none. I'm still on the one I bought a year ago and its still sharp enough to tear through green wood like no tomorrow. I wouldn't personally use mine for roots in dirt like the previous reviewer because they aren't made to deal with dirt. The Dewalts he used, or just about any other blade for that matter, are better suited to deal with the inevitable stones and rocks involved with cutting roots in dirt. Its all about using a tool within its limits and to knock a tool for under performing outside what it is spec'ed for is, in my opinion, unfair. For wood and wood only, and especially green wood, I look to no other blade because there is no better.

If you're look for an alternative to Sawzall specialty blade 48-00-1301, this blade rocks! I attached to my Supersawzall and cut down a three story pine tree in half a day! The thicker part of the trunk was the only time I felt that a chainsaw would have been better because this blaze is only 9". I wish they made a longer version of this bad boy.

Have used multiple brands of saw blades on my reciprocating saw. By far this was the best. It cut so quickly and smoothly. In addition to pruning, used it to make quick work of cutting up pallets for my woodstove.

Delivered on time. Product was as represented. Would buy from this vendor again. Be sure to buy and/or use safety glasses. I had no problem with the blades, but better safe than sorry.

If your in a hurry (aggressive blade) or pruning trees and roots this is the must have blade. I've used for the last few years and they are excellent in quality and performance.
