My son uses this for his tuba mouthpieces and it works as expected. He's very sensitive to smells and this cleaner seems to do the trick. Occasionally when he leaves condensation overnight in the tuba itself he'll pull out the tuning slides and spray some of the cleaner inside. I don't know if it disinfects exactly but it seems to clean pretty well. He has one at school, one at home, and one in each of his instrument cases now.

Spray and wipe my mouthpiece down every time after playing. It stays clean and I never have the trouble that many have with foul smelling mouthpieces that they spend hours cleaning. Does best if you spray and then wipe with a clean rag.

Note: I have a stainless steel tuba mouthpiece and own the massive bottle of this product, spraying liberally.

I use the spray for shared recorders in my elementary classroom. It works well, and doesn't leave a nasty alchol taste or smell. It actually smells minty!

The cleaner hopefully does the job but it leaves this bit of residue on the mouthpiece. It's minty and I don't mind it so it's not a big deal to me. In the instructions it says to wait until the liquid dries up and maybe that's why it tastes funny. However, with my rental instrument, it makes me feel a lot better with the mist cleaner on the mouthpiece. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is using school instruments or renting from a local store.

As a teacher, it becomes necessary to try their instruments to see if anything is wrong, and how it plays in general. It's much easier to do this now that I can just mist the head joint right before and after playing!
