I tried gluing my kid's broken mouthpiece and sanding the resultant rough edges. Results weren't pretty.
She says she can't tell the difference between this and the Vito factory mouthpiece. Used for High School marching band.

To be brief, I am a fan of this mouthpiece. My old one was looking rather nasty (as it should being many, many years old) and as I was trying to pick up playing my instrument again, I chose this Rico. It's a very balanced mouthpiece, not too bright, and is not too difficult to play on for someone who hadn't picked up his clarinet in years. I'm used to a flat mouthpiece, so the ridge where the reed lines up did take some time to get used to, but feels natural now.

For the price, this is the right mouthpiece.

I recently ordered this mouthpiece to test the difference between the Rico Graftonite Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece, A5, B7, and Rico Graftonite Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece, C5. This mouthpiece is certainly the middle ground among the three. The tones produced by the Rico B7 are loud and brilliant, but still have the potential for pianississimo in the higher-upper octave. Truly a standard mouthpiece, as it has no special qualities. I use this and the A5 while practicing at night as they are worlds more subtle than the C5.

Rico mouthpieces are built specifically for Rico reeds (as are Vandoren mouthpieces built for Vandoren), and while they work very very well with anything else, a Rico reed will produce the most clear sound, although lacking in the professional quality of tone. I experimented with Vandoren original, 56 Rue Lepic, and Rico's Mitchell Lurie reeds, all between 2.5 and 3.5, and while all reeds did well, the Mitchell Lurie create the best tone.

If you don't have a professional mouthpiece or two, these are decent substitutes. I would recommend investing in all three to test what sort of tone you are looking for based on your play style and literature choice.

Had one of these with an old clarinet which I sold. Just brought a new Yamaha 250 with a 6c mouthpiece and was spending a small fortune on different makes and strengths of reed, thought my lip had gone for good, quite dissapointed. Then I thought back to my old clarinet and the Rico mouthpeice, brought an A3 for the stronger reed and can now play for hours at a time on any make of reed from a 1.5 to 3.0 with false top phangs, good tone, fits well, good quality and blows so easy, reckon you could play a floor board on one of these. Not saying that the Yamaha 6c mouthpiece is no good just not suitable for me perhaps but I will say that the Rico is better finished and the raised table is good for lining up the reed in false light, not quite as good as the Vandoren B45 but then again about a tenth of the price. Most important bit of all is my Dalmation dosn't howl the house down with this mouthpiece.

This mouthpiece didnot fit into the clarinet and on the box it said it was for a saxophone not a clarinet. Not happy.
