Bought this CD to play at naptime in a child care center. Played it to see what it was and kept it to use for my own meditations and bought another for the center.

I wanted to hear "sea gulls"!

Dear Hap Palmer,

I recently received the CD “Sea Gulls.” I was desperately in need of Rest and Relaxation, so I put it on right away. While you did an excellent job with the music in 1978, and the music is quite beautiful, I was wondering if you planned on any improvements. Specifically, will you be adding any actual “Sea Gulls”?

The person who sent me this as a gift knows my affection for “Sea Gulls.” Imagine my disappointment at not one audible “Sea Gull” featured on the CD. And it is shockingly difficult to find rest and relaxation music accompanied by “Sea Gulls,” so my anticipation had been high.

You might think of the call of “Sea Gulls” as jarring, abrasive, annoying, disturbing, grating, harsh etc. (Most people call it a cry, but it is quite musical and restful and relaxing in its own way.) I, for one, do not live near the sea, so there is a serious lack of cries in my home. (I only have four children.) I was thinking the call could be in places where the music crescendos, or the saxophone plays the scales. Quite lovely.

I am not unaware of the time that has passed since you first published the album, and I do hope you are still living and producing music. Please keep me advised of any improvements you make to the “Sea Gulls” album, or any other CD’s in a series. I would be especially interested in elephants, howler monkeys, and Chihuahuas.

Great for our newest grandson to rest by
