I am very pleased with this purchase. It's thicker and with better hardware than I'd expected but it could use a hole for hanging on the wall. Warning - it will scare your pets!

This one was a real surprise. I have seen them made so poorly that the slapper and hardware come apart in a few minutes. This one is shorter than described, but the wood is thick, and the hardware amazingly high quality. Good snap if done properly. I snapped is several times right out of the box and am still impressed. It's more like 12 inches, but if you're looking for quality, I hope yours is as well made as this one. My new bull whip for well-placed cracks in the music. (Tip: if you've never used one, ask for help, needs to be done correctly.) Good luck.

This works very well and held up just fine under moderate use for a month. I anticipate getting much more use out of it. Additionally, this looks quite nice and was not out of place on stage in a Shakespearean comedy using loosely Elizabethan costuming -- just plain wood and brass, with nothing to make it stand out as modern. Highly recommended and a good value.

This slapstick is good and loud and much better quality than the cheapo Suzuki slapstick which I mistakenly purchased and quickly returned. Decent for the price although I have also bought another one for $24.99 which seems like it will hold up with more use. Just the same, this one is sturdy enough and will serve the purpose for occasional holiday use. The price seems right.

This is a fun addition to add percussive sounds to some of our handbell music. It seems a little high priced for what it is, and ours might be a little loose in the hinge, but unsure as I've never owned a slapstick before. But it's doing the job and certainly is loud :-).
