The price is very good for the product. The gun is exactly as looks and described on arrival. Extremly accurate with a little adjustment on the scope which the manual explains perfectly clear. The only set back is that with most air guns, sometimes it jams, but not often at all and can usually be avoided by not rushing the load. It is however, just as powerful as described. I still have a pellet stuck in my oil drum.:) Exelent buy and highly recomended especially for beginners!

I bought my Remington 77 kit made by Crosman after reading a full review on them at [...]

For a cheap, first gun for a 10-16 year old this would make an excellent first gun. While there is a lot of plastic on this gun, the main receiver is cast metal. This gave the gun a little more weight and the gun actually feels pretty nice to hold.

Loading a pellet into the 77 can be a challenge -- when you pull back the bolt, the rifle's loading port opens up. Unfortunately, there is NO room to get your fingers into that port. So you have to learn how to roll each pellet just right so that it lands heading in the right direction -- you actually get used to it and it becomes easier.

I would not shoot BBs due to eventually wearing out the rifling and accuracy.

The included scope is not very good and I left it off becuase the open sights are accurate once adjusted.

It generates more than enough velocity to dispatch small game and is lightweight. ... With the 10 pump maximum the Crosman claim of 765 fps is real, but tiring to pump to 10, so you might want to pump to 6 or 8.

In conclusion, the Remington AirMaster 77 is one nice, first rifle -- accurate with flexibility for youngsters and adults. The range of velocity makes it really suited for a wide variety of applications. The open sights are ok and accurate, but the scope is horrible.

For a rifle kit that retails for about $90, I was happy.

But, I would recommend the Sheridan Blue Streak CB9 for $166 + $7 shipping at Amazon due to it being all metal and wood (also made by Crosman, as are Daisy, Crosman, Benjamin and Sheridan.) Crosman owns them all now days!
