Some who own and use vintage sewing machines have raised the question of whether the Teflon flakes in this product will ultimately cause harm to the machines, but a number of very experienced vintage Signer owners have highly recommended it, so I tried it on my 1916 Singer 15-30.

Thin straw included makes this product super accurate to use, applying to tiny oil holes and very, tight spots.

Huge difference in the operation of this machine after oiling.

So -- so far, so good.

I was first introduced to Tri-Flow by a compound bow manufacturer in Albuquerque. He explained to me that it lubricated two ways, with the light penetrating oil and with tiny flakes of Teflon (i.e. You cannot see them it just looks milky.). The oil also acts as a transport mechanism for the Teflon. After lubricating something - you wipe off the excess oil and the Teflon stays inside. It works great on firearms, locks, fishing reels, cameras, bikes, firearms, and car door hinges, too. For example: I drive daily on long and very dusty roads. I used to have to oil my hinges monthly with WD40. I now use Tri-Flow about twice a year. I own a 1983 Ford ¾ ton pickup truck. It came equipped with a variable venturi carburetor, a California configuration. I went to the Ford dealership for a tune up. The technician first question to me was how much trouble the choke had been giving me. He explained to me that this type of carb was apparently designed by an engineer who had never lived in a sandy environment! Just ONE grain of sand would keep the choke open. The Ford mechanic, who had been to specialty classes on this carb, could hardly believe I was having no problem with mine. It had been nothing but trouble for his dealership in dusty southern New Mexico. I told him that when I bought the truck it worked fine until winter, when it needed to be choked to start. When I found the choke was sticking, I cleaned off the varnish accumulation on the top of the carb and sprayed it with WD40. This worked until the WD40 cooked off from engine heat, then I had trouble starting again. The next time I sprayed it with Tri-Flow (Ta Da!) Problem solved! The oil was gone and the Teflon remained. It allowed the variable venturi to "float". I had to use Tri-Flow at the beginning of every winter after that.Read more ›

I bought a used Bernina Record 730 knowing that the buttonholer was stuck. While sifting through the myriad troubleshooting forums, I noticed this product mentioned several times. Tri Flow, coupled with heat from a blow dryer, and bam, any kinks just ease right out. I followed those instructions on mine and after about 5 minutes, voilà, the lever is now supple and graceful. This product is intended to be used on bicycles, too, so I'm glad to have it in the house!

Among other things, I use this to lubricate the machine-heads (tuning mechanisms consisting of a worm gear operating on a gear on a shaft with the string wrapped around it) on my mandolin. Works well and the teflon lasts a long time for smooth operation.

Use this on every Sewing Machine/Serger I use or repair and it has always worked perfectly and lasted for a long time.

Just an excellent product and super cheap for just how much use you can get out of this bottle.

I'd heard I should use graphite for locks. Not true unless you have an old lock that takes a "skeleton key" - it has room to allow the graphite to gather below the locking mechanism. Most locks now should use Tri-Flow to lubricate and protect! That info was passed on to me from a locksmith.

The best light lube on the market for bikes. So much better than Park Tool CL-1 Synthetic Blend Chain Lube Bottle (4 oz). And do yourself a favor: just like with sunscreen, don't by the aerosol version! (Tri-Flow TF20006 Superior Lubricant, 12-Ounce Aerosol) Half of it goes everywhere but where you want it to. Waste of money, and waste of time cleaning up the mess!

PS it smells great to boot!

Great product that is easy to apply and doesnt have the same oily smell as WD40. Used very liberally on my garage door springs, joints, hinges, etc and it significantly reduced the noise when it opens and closes--can barely hear it when inside the house. Still have some left for squeaky doors in the house
