I purchased this calculator a week ago at Office Depot. I had a lot of difficulty loading the printer paper (just where exactly am I supposed to insert the paper?...) The most irritating thing for me about this calculator is that the decimal point is very tiny and tends to get lost (and hence very easy to overlook) among the otherwise large and very clear display numerals. Also the Print indicator is much too tiny for my liking.

As for the instructions - they left me wondering what Canon was thinking when they designed the layout of the instructions. The instructions begin with calculation examples, then explain what the different keys are used for. Next is the list of specifications. Then follow instructions for loading and replacing the batteries. At this point, if you're wondering how to load the paper, you'll find them on the backside of the instructions rather than toward the beginning of the instructions where you might logically expect them to be. As for loading the paper, it took me several guesses before I finally figured out exactly where to insert the paper. Otherwise, I basically like the features of the calculator except for, in my honest opinion, the inadequately tiny decimal point.

In summary, the seemingly illogical order in which the instructions are laid out, an unsatisfactory decimal point size, and the unnecessary difficulty in loading the paper detract from an otherwise easy to use compact calculator with a very clear display and a nice printout. In conclusion, I would suggest checking out other calculators before purchasing this one to make sure you're satisfied with all of its features.

The big complaint about this calculator is difficulty loading the paper. The solution is simple. Trim the paper straight across to get a clean leading edge, as the instructions direct. Then, cut off the corners, leaving about an inch of the original edge. It's much easier to slip that into the loading slot and engage the feed rollers. It helps to work in good light.

My unit prints cleanly and legibly. I'm fully satisfied with it.

This is the second one of these units in the last 4-5 years.

I echo the issues with paper loading that other reviewers have mentioned.

In addition, the display on the latest iteration is more difficult to read than the first unit I had.

Both units also have poor printing - the second more so - there is smudging across the printed digits that make it difficult to easily see what the numeric digits actually are.

The unit is too cheap to be worth my time to take it back to the vendor (Office Depot).

At least I'm not going to fall for this one a 3rd time...:-(

Works very well, exactly as I would want. I don’t give it five stars as I haven’t compared it to others. Its great for balancing my checkbook as I can find my errors easier with the printed copy. The current one I bought is a replacement for one I used for many years until its LED readout started to break down.

The time calc function is unique. I can track employees time with ease. Converts time of day to decimal hours. Ex: John Smith arrived 732 am and left at 513 pm. Result 9.68 hours. I have yet to find another calculator with that function this size. I just don't want a huge calculator taking up valuable desk space. Even online time calculators are more clunky.
Paper is not that hard to load once you get the hang of it. You just have either fold or cut the paper into a point, kind of like a triangle, before you start to feed it in.
On a wish list I wish it had an item count. but it's not a big deal.

I've just tossed this in the trash. It is useless. It continually displays an "E" error code, which will not clear. Even removing the batteries did not help. Further, loading paper is not easy, and unless you are very careful, the paper will slip off the spool when carrying it (or trying to change batteries) and you are left with a twisted mess.

Although I really do like the calculator, when I received it the batteries were inside the unit and they had corroded. The calculator did not work. I contacted the vendor and he agreed to return my money without question. So I would definitely recommend this vendor for other items.
