Ok so I'm 19 and I cannot count how many tambourines I have destroyed. I can really play the thing, especially for my folk who are in the Black church you know what I'm talking about. I went from plastic to goat skin, then to fiberskyn. This is actually my second fiberskyn purchase but this time I bought the double rows which makes the tambourine heavier and I like that. It's not as easy for me to really beat the thing like the single rows but I can still have fun. The fiberskyn is the best quality you can get and the price is absolutely worth it. My last fiberskyn was destroyed but the only thing that broke were the shingles, lol. First they would just come off from excessive beating. Then I would hammer them back in and then, they would split in two and fall off. Now all of the shingles are off my single row and its just a drum-head now lol. The fiberskyn itself survived, torn but it survived. :D

Price point is probably fair.It is made out of hardwood and wrapped with a shiny mylar, like a drum, and the hole is wrapped with a gold colored metal which feels pretty good on the middle finger. There is no hand grip or indent for the hand. It is a basic tambourine with a "fiberskin" head. I like the sound of the head. More drum like than other tambourines I've used.It does not meet professional quality standards. The head is glued on and has a ribbon over it with 2 staples to fasten the ends. The jingles are on the "tinny side." Over all, I would give it a C for quality and a B for sound but I will keep it in the mix for now.

This is an awesome tambourine! Especially for those who play tambourines in church. It is very durable and it lasts for along while. I still have mine from last year and I'm still using it. This tambourine features a very nice skin and it makes a great sound. For the skillful church tambourine players this is a great tambourine and it really makes you feel like you have a winner. This is a great durable tambourine. Just be careful who you let play it in church, especially those who like to hit it really hard and also for those who are heavy handed. Trust me avoid those type and you and the tambourine will be fine!

All my grandson wanted this year were percussion instruments to add to his collection – things his fellow musicians could grab for a quick, impromptu session in the rec room. Because we live 300 miles apart, and returns are impossible unless they're ordered online, this tambourine looked like a perfect fit, and I ordered it without a second thought. When it came, and I opened it up to check it out, I was filled with questions about its sound, because obviously, Grandma doesn't know a thing about these "noise makers." I took it to a local music store, with the thought of checking out its quality, and the owner came out to inspect it, assuring me that the Remo brand was the best. And so I wrapped it up. The best surprise was my grandson's reaction when he opened it, with a "Yes! A Remo!" It was then that I knew I'd made the best choice. I've since had reports of more fun emanating from the basement when the group gathers for a jam session, and the tambourine is still kicking' out its share of the "racket."

Jans drummer hubby here. This is the Poor Man's Pandiero! I am integrating more Brazilian and Middle eastern grooves in my drum kit work and this little guy with the Fibreskyn head is the bomb for light brushwork with an added jingly effect. I was looking at a Stanton Moore Pandiero (close to $100) from LP but this little guy for $20 will get me by until I come up with the dough to spring for a proper pandiero (and figure out where to put it on my kit). I lay it on top of my snare drum with snares off and get a nice swooshy sound with the odd "jing" when I hit it right. Cool! No, its not tunble, but it does have a nice middle tone to the head thats great with wide brushes or playing as a Muzhar with the fingers. This is my second Remo tambo (the other has a pretuned plastic head) and for the money you cant beat them.

I was a little bit disappointed with this tambourine. I was doing thumb rolls with it quite nicely at first, but after just a few times the head must have absorbed moisture and will no longer play well. I wouldn't recommend using it for anything professional, but if you just need a standard tambourine and the classic tambourine noise, then you should be happy with this.

Very nice sound from both the drum head and the jangles. I use it a lot with the jangles quieted with strips of cloth. Still great hand drum sound with just a little jangle. Good professional grade product.
