These pens were my favorite pens for work. I am a nurse- and still do a fair amount of writing.

#1. It writes first time, every time. You never have to scribble to get it "re-started." (This is a huge issue with constant start and stop writing.)
#2. Fine point.
#3. Comfortable grip.
#4. Big box, not a lot of money.

HOWEVER, here is the issue. The upper barrel of the pen cracks (so the top pops off with any pressure- such as writing- and the pen is no longer functional) LONG before the ink is even close to the bottom of the cartridge. I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but this issue has frustrated me so much, I wanted to just warn others about this. I have gone through 2 boxes of these pens, and every one of them develops this issue within a month or two.

If you need a pen you can rely on day in and day out, find something else. This is not a pen you can have a "long term relationship" with.

I've tried the majority of the pens in the box and they all write well at first and then give out after a few lines. I've tried shaking and scribbling, but nothing. It's like the pens are old and have been sitting in a hot warehouse for years. This is the only explanation I can come up because I've never had a problem with an entire box of pens.

I love this pen! Normally, I'm very picky about my pens and prefer sharp tips with liquid ink. But at work (paramedic), those pens don't work well because they won't write on gloves or tape or skin. These pens are the best for writing on anything. I even gave it to a nurse the other day who had misplaced her sharpie and couldn't get her pen to write on a plastic wristband (used to note patient allergies). I handed her mine and told her it wrote on almost anything, and she was surprised when it worked! She even exclaimed "it does write on anything!"

Why not just use a sharpie you ask? markers or felt tips pens don't work on our 3 layer carbon paper forms (honestly, no pen transfers 100% of the time, but there's a specific rule against felt tip pens because they never transfer). So for me, this pen works on everything and keeps me from carrying a secondary marker with me.

I've tried many ballpoint pens, which all work better that gel or liquid ink pens for different surfaces, but this particular pen surpasses others when writing on plastic. I bought a four pack by chance in my search for the greatest work pen ever, and when they ran out couldn't find any more in the stores. Thank goodness for Amazon. I bought this box and a box of the pink cancer awareness ones - nice to have some variety... and I am a girl. Plus, it has a comfy textured grip without being super thick - I can fit 2 in the pen slot of my cargo pocket (will fit in the slot in the shirt pocket too, but I don't use that).

We've used the older (5 years+) version of these pens and have loved them. I figured I'd give these a whirl and they really suck. They feel cheap and I don't like the clicker. Oh well...good thing we kept our old ones.

These pens are great, though they need to update the photo, since it doesn't quite match.

However, I didn't get these pens because they look cool. I got them because they write and draw well without gumming up blobs of ink or skipping, etc. I'm an industrial designer, so I write with block lettering (lots of short strokes) and not cursive, and most ball-point pens don't deliver consistent ink to the page with this type of writing. Most ball-point pens also tend to gather up blobs of ink when drawing longer lines (as with sketching) and will often dump ink blobs on the page unexpectedly. These pens write and draw very smoothly, and are currently my favorite ball-point pens.

Bought these on the basis of some glowing reviews. They really are very ordinary. What really turns me off about them is they have a lot of drag, i.e. you have to press down a bit and they don't write easily. I have arthritis in my hands and like a pen with an easier flow. Moreover, the written results are just average, lighter and less like real ink than I like. That said, they are nice and light and don't leave globs of ink when you write.
