I purchased this switch to operate some custom LED driving lights that a friend is making for my 2009 BMW R1200GS Adventure. This switch will work perfectly.[...] offers a mounting bracket (part no. TM 52002). I wanted to pass along some information on the wiring.

Connect the switch red wire to 12 volts (positive), black to negative/ground. The LED glows green when the switch is in the OFF position and red when the switch is in the ON position. The white wire from the switch gets 12 volts (positive) when the switch is ON. This wire is used to energize the relay.

Note that there is no tactile feel for the switch operation. The only indication that the switch has closed (turned the lights on) is the LED changing color.

This switch must be used with a relay to handle the load. The wires are much too small to handle any amperage beyond that required to operate the relay. Hope this helps.

I'm sure this would be great if I had a motorcycle... Does not work with other models. I bought this for a friend, and didn't do my research. If anybody needs this switch let me know, I'll sell it to you cheaper.

The PIAA Pt No. 30034 Sw. Arrived earlier than forecast, it took two weeks and not three. However, I have some concerns the Sw. is the correct basic Switch, but;
1. It has not got the waterproof sleeve on that it replaces.(it is a lighting Sw.for a Motorcycle).
2. The wiring plug on the harness was the wrong type for the 34085 harness it was to attach to and had to be replaced with the old plug from the old Sw.
So not happy with the PIAA Pt. No. System to correctly identify their parts, but have made it work at some extra expense.
