If you have a need for adding artificial rain gutters to make a proper mounting bracket you are well aware there are not many options. Fortunately, one of those options is part of a Thule rack system. Chances are you or the vehicle will be long worn out long before these ever wear out.

Searched specifically for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler 4 door hardtop when buying these. However, they don't work with the Thule "low" feet I'm already using. It turns out that you must use a "low" foot on the actual rain gutter towards the front of the vehicle and a "high" foot in the back attached to these artificial rain gutters. This is the only way to make them level. Poor job by Thule in not making it clear what is needed. These may work fine but I have not been able to install yet since I have to purchase a set of "high" feet to make this work.

These do the job for mounting Thule 300 feet (the style for use with rain gutters) on the fiberglass cap of my Tundra pickup. Not much to them, actually. Four enameled steel plates with a "J" channel on the bottom, along with matching rubber pads and a bag of required bolts, nuts and washers. All this for the reasonable price of just $58! What a rip-off! But, nobody will ever describe Thule products as being reasonably priced.

I bought this to work with a roof rack I got when I purchased some IKEA furniture 25 years ago. I used them once to get the furniture home. I figured I'd used them again sometime so I never threw them away. 25 years later I'm using them with the rain gutter to lift the cap off my truck and store it on the ceiling of my barn. This review is a little premature because I haven't installed them yet. But they fit the roof rack perfectly and the kit contents has everything needed. Somebody said the bolts were too short and some silicone could be added to the kit. I'll find out soon. I was just tickled that someone thought to produce this product.

These were very easy to install. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars was the bolts. The bolts are metric carriage bolts & a few were too short for the thickness of my cap at certain spots. It is almost impossible to find stainless steel carriage bolts in a longer length & standard 1/4 bolts, the square of the carriage bolt is too big for the hole in the mount. Other than that, I would highly recommend them.

Thule, unlike Yakima, forces its customers to buy 4 of everything which is very limiting. I wanted to use the cab of my truck for one cross bar and the camper shell for the second bar. With Thule I needed to buy 4 of the artificial rain gutters, 4 of the type 300 feet (to have the two for the camper, and 4 of the type 403 feet so as to have the two for the cab.

I decided to switch over to Yakima where I can buy components in pairs and mix and match.
