OK, I order this thing. And it comes in the mail. I can't describe the joy once the bubble wrap was peeled back. It's here. I rush to my truck, plugged it in. I grabbed the tongue of my camper and man handle it over to the truck. I couldn't wait to see if it connected. WTF, it did. Totally stuck it right in there. And shut the front door if the lights didn't come on the trailer. Bless you Hopkins, bless your black plastic heart.

If you are going to pull a Uhaul trailer and have a stock 7 pin blade jack you will need to get an adapter. This unit has a very solid feel and is easy to plug in. When you need to remove it the top and bottomtabs give you a sutiable area to grab and unplug the unit.

The best feature is the confirmation of power LED lights. The Uhaul I went to had several trailers with bad lights. I could see that I had a good connection and that the trailer lights were bad. This was confirmed when I finally found a working trailer.

You could buy an adapter from Uhaul when you rent the trailer. It will cost you $20 and does not have the confirmation lights.

I plugged this in to my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with FACTORY trailer wiring, in other words it has the big round connection found on all factory towing packages.

I've only had it a couple of days but thought adding some actual photos of it was a good idea as the only photos On this item are complaints and not sure they are accurate descriptions of this item.

It works as advertised. Running lights, turn signals, brakes, and the indicator LEDs light up. I've attached a couple of photos with my connection on the vehicle and this unit installed.

I do not have my trailer on hand to test it right at the moment of this review, however I verified with my volt meter that voltage is present on the plugs when active.

This adapter allows the 4-Wire Flat harness to be connected to the standard 7-Wire Socket, and it has built-in LEDs that signal when the wires are connected properly.
The Adapter is a "male" -- connects to the 7-Wire Socket -- and the exposed 4-Wire "male" connects to the 4-Wire Harness.
The Adapter has an attached "cap" that fits over the 4-Wire connection when not in use -- keeps out rain, snow, mud, etc.
It's the quick and easy way to hook up a 4-Wire Flat Harness to your 7-Wire Socket..

I kept having issues with a cheap adapter i got from HF. Went to rent a trailer and some of the lights weren't working. Cleaned up the connectors with some WD40 but still nothing. Tried another trailer and same thing happened. Shop told me it was my 4runner and not 2 trailers. A week later i got this, plugged it in and every light worked. I used some magnetic tow lights, hooked them up to it and confirmed again that every light worked. I go back to get another trailer, same problem at first. I show the guy how everything lights up when it's just my car, but when hooked to the trailer the left won't turn on. Finally pulls another trailer around and the thing lit up perfectly. Great, hefty adapter in the first place and the lights are a tremendous assest.

So you say you need a 7 RV Blade To 4 Flat Adapter well step right up and order this one and don't look back.
I picked up a new trailer but as luck would have it the trailer was 4 wire so took a chance and ordered this one, worked like a charm and the LED test lights are a nice bonus.

I love this Hopkins Towing Solution. I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and it saved me from having to rewire my trailer connection. It fits and works perfect. I highly recommend it and I would buy again.

My new '15 Nissan Frontier has the first trailer connector of this type that I've ever owned. Not sure whether it's me, the truck or this adapter, but I can't get the adapter to slide into the factory-installed socket on the back of the truck. It inserts just barely enough for the latch to catch, but won't push in further, and wiggles around easily because the tangs don't insert. I'm leery of using a hammer to drive it on for fear it would never come off, and don't want my trailer lights flashing every time I run over a crack in the pavement.
