I like this shirt well enough I was going to order more in other colors when they raised the price.
I bought this shirt for my Dad as a Father's Day gift and he LOVES it!
The Style and fit are great and the pockets are nice little bonus.

Product Description

Designed to meet the needs of active anglers, this cool, protective shirt is constructed of soft cotton poplin, with fly box pockets and a rod holder loop at the left chest.

The fish might be smart, but Columbia's popular Bonehead men's short-sleeve fishing shirt is smarter. Constructed of cotton poplin that's garment washed for lived-in comfort, the shirt offers such features as hook-and-loop closed fly box pockets at the chest, a tool holder and utility loop, and a rod holder loop at the left chest that frees up your hands to work with lines and lures. The mesh-lined cape vents at the back shoulder, meanwhile, are designed to keep you cool and comfortable. Finally, the shirt includes a hook-and-loop at the collar tip, which lets you turn the collar up to keep the sun off your neck. Machine wash warm and tumble dry low for easy care.

About Columbia Sportswear

Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.

Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60 year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

Columbia has yet to let me down in the quality of their clothes, durability and materials used. This shirt, is no exception. The only problem with this shirt, and it's a big one, is that the size is waaayyyy off. I would venture to say 2 sizes off. I ordered a large, as I am a large in every other brand including other Columbia product lines, but this shirt was so big I could fully loaded ruck sack underneath it!!

Seriously, it is at least one size larger than labeled but I would venture to say it might even be 2 sizes too large. I'm going to give it to my dad who typically wears a XXL and see if it fits him. Bottom line, do not order this shirt online unless you have confirmed your size in a store first.

I bought 3 of them. Great quality as we're used to when buying any Columbia stuff. But however, bigger than they seem to be. (S is like M, and so on)

I have been buying these shirts for years. They are great for fishing or any outdoor wear. The back is vented and there are plenty of pockets for keeping things like cell phones or keys secure, especially in a boating environment. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

This shirt is GREAT and the size is perfect. I have noticed that a number of the reviews have complained about the sizing of these shirts. I want to point out that Amazon provides a size chart within its description for the Columbia Bahama II shirts that is also applicable for the Bonehead shirts. The size of the shirt is to be based upon the size of one's hips (according to the chart). I have a slender build, but I used the sizing chart when ordering the shirts and they came to me a perfect fit. They fit as well as any of my other shirts.

I'm writing this as a warning to others on sizes (mens). I bought two of these on the net using the recommended Columbia sizing charts and although they are advertised as a generous/comfort fit, that is 'shrinking the truth' by a fair margin. Unless you like EXTREMELY flappy, loose fitting shirts I'd suggest you drop at least one size down from Columbia's charts. Based on my chest, neck and waist measurements the chart recommended XL but the shirts were so loose I could fit them over a coat and still have room to spare. I'm usually L in fitted shirts so I've reordered these in M!

This is the second shirt of this kind I have gotten for my son. He goes to school in Tempe, AZ and it is HOT. My daughter's boyfriend loves his so I got one for my son. He said it keeps him cool and doesn't get smelly. It does what it says. I will but more I find colors I know he will like.

Columbia products are meant to be worn loose for comfort and agility, they were not meant to be fitted. I where this style shirt everyday for work in sunny South Florida and wouldn't want anything else! The looseness allows movement and air to pass while cotton wicks away perspiration. It's the perfect active, outdoor shirt. If your looking for something fitted and formal, try Tommy Bahama. You'll pay a bit more for a lot less material, but you'll look good lounging. Plus they're silk, not what you'd want being active in the heat though.

These shirts run big. But i gotta say, my husband is a brick layer and aummer time is very hot. I purchased him two of these to work in. He sweats very bad... this shirt helped to cut some of that wetness from his body thus keeping him cooler. If you sweat lots.. this shirt is for you!
