I've used other Estwing hammers for years in various phases of construction.
Now I'm welding and I was in need of a good quality chipping hammer.
Estwing delivered with the E3-WC.

This Estwing Chipping Hammer is very high quality, well balanced, and very sharp. I doubt I'll kill this one like I have the last 2 cheap @$$ chinese made chipping hammers I had. I have to add, 99.9% of the chipping hammers out there on the market are pure junk. But not this one. This Estwing chipping hammer is made out of the same high strength tool steel that their other hammers are made out of. One piece construction, meaning the head and handle shaft are one piece (so the head won't fly off like other hammers I've used). This hammer also has the same Estwing style handle I'm used to with their other hammers (like the 16 and 20oz. carpenters hammers).

Added bonus, it's MADE IN AMERICA!!

First thing I thought when I saw this Welding Chipping Hammer was WOW. This aint no cheap cast iron spring handle POS. This is a thing of art. The metal is top quality and machining is top quality as well. The bottom of hammer head and neck is painted mettalic blue and looks cool. Handle is a shock absorbing rubber. Big Blue is a great buy. Best of All this baby is made in the good ol' USA. Buy it u will love it.

Just like the title review says, this thing is pretty outstanding. Chipping slag off of a 6013 or 7018, quick and simple. Not to mention the toughness is also pretty impressive, the pointed end can take a hell of a beating on metal. Don't think I'll be replacing this anytime soon.

Much stronger and higher quality than any of the metal or wood handle chipping hammers out there. It is worth the extra money. I have the first one I bought in 1988, and it still works fine.

Estwing needs to compensate youtube contributor "ChuckE20009" (https://www.youtube.com/user/ChuckE2009) . This is the only hammer he promotes and uses, and he has been an influence in my choice to become a welder..

I have used Estwing hammers of various kinds for 35 years and counting but somehow it never occurred to me that they made slaggers, two times the price and no doubt this will last 100 times as long (literally) as the cheesy ones I kept buying at the welding supply. I call it a bargain at some twice the price of the throw aways. I still have every single Estwing hammer I have ever purchased, the oldest has one has minor failing--the rubber handle is a bit loose and can slip about 1/2" up and down the shank but not so loose that it effects performance much. I ran one over with a forklift and bent the handle steel, straightened it and you can't tell the diff.
