4.0 out of 5 stars It works, but..., September 25, 2006
The harness works great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I did not find it difficult to put on the first time. I had my son pet our dog and give him "belly rubs" while I worked with the harness. The biggest problem I've had with the harness is that our dog is like Houdini. He can escape from everything (which is why we bought the harness in the first place.) He worries at it and pulls at it until somehow he manages to get his back legs out. Then he jumps over the fence again. My advice if you are using this harness would be twofold: 1st, don't throw away the instructions. If your dog manages to escape, you will need the instructions to get the harness back on properly. (I learned this the hard way.) 2nd: Buy a 2nd harness as a back up. That way if a piece gets worn through or lost, you have it. (This hasn't happened to me yet, but I wish I had bought 2 of them. They are inexpensive and it would be nice to have a 2nd one. The one I have is starting to look pretty worn because my dog chews on it. Eventually, I think he'll chew through one of the straps.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for my dog, January 11, 2008
I have an Irish setter that can jump four foot fences in one leap and climbs six foot fences and where I live there is a law about not having dogs on tie outs. My dogs is housebroke but when she does go out she escapes. I was told by the Irish setter rescue to get one of these no jump harnesses, that it not only prevents dogs from jumping up but from jumping over fences.

Well, it is not easy to get on a dog that moves and took almost an hour. Then I let her out to watch and well, she tried to jump the first time and stumbled so she walked around the yard a few times, took off at high speed and flew over the fence with no problem at all.

Also, the harness keeps sliding over to one side, it doesn't stay like the picture shows. I thought maybe it wasn't on right so I rechecked and it was on according to the directions.

Maybe it works for some but not for my very determined Irish Setter.

4.0 out of 5 stars It did work..., November 4, 2006
On our package we had pretty good instructions, so it did not take my husband long to put it on. However, although it did work well my dog chewed the leg and next thing you know it was off and chewed to pieces. Too bad they didn't have a stronger material. I would recommend this product to anyone that has a dog without a chewing problem.
