I work for a company that has a relatively small Education & Training Department and the department manager asked me to look into some speakers that would accommodate a room of about 50 people (not sure how this is my thing as the IT Manager, but OK). Prior to purchasing these, we had a computer speaker (with subwoofer) setup that was just a nightmare to setup and looked terrible with all the cables (when you are doing training or trying to sell a product, appearance IS important).

I had read reviews about these speakers elsewhere that ranged from "buzzing feedback" to just short of concert hall quality. I thought I would try them out since there does not seem to be anything else on the market of this size that gave decent output. When we received them, I was quite pleased with the quality of workmanship and the sturdiness of the speaker housing. Of course all of this will add some weight so that is something to consider if you are planning on carrying them around all over with you, but they are still only a few pounds.

When we plugged them in, we were very pleased with the quality of sound these put out. There was no feedback, no "tinny" sound and whether it was bass or treble, the sound seemed to come out consistent. We had about 20 people in the room when we first tested them and everyone said they could hear very well. We then took them on the road and with about 65 people in a pretty large room, only those sitting far back (about 125 feet from podium) said they had trouble with the volume. In reality, this was not a fault of the speakers but of the people not wanting to sit at the front, but we did have people at the front so we could not turn up the volume too much as the room was not full to absorb all the volume.

Overall, I would say there is room to improve the item, but it truly does what you would believe it should. I do have my doubts about the upper level of people supported (200) as that would truly blast the eardrums of those in the front rows.
