Yes, this 3M 30NF Water based Contact Cement is excellent. Years ago I could find it for $23 a Gallon. It's been a while since I've needed some and I'm shocked by the price, wow. Outrageous!

I'm going to impart some good information about working with Water Based Contact Cement. The guys that say "I'll never use that stuff again etc..." , they just don't know how to use it. But you know it is the future so let's get it right, right here!

1) I roll it using a short nap roller. Critical - DON'T over-roll it. The high Solids materials that do the bonding tend to resorb back into the roller the more you work it while bond-killing water gets worked into the fibers.

2) Keep it thin. It's tempting when having problems to want to slap 3, 4, even 5 coats on your surfaces (I've done it). Just 2 quickly rolled coats, cover it well but don't get too fussy, just get it on there quickly and leave it alone.

3) The cans always say 30-45 minutes of dry time. You must wait at least an hour, 90 minutes is best, and if it's cold and raining add another 30-45 minutes.

4) Towel in hand or rolling pin in hand, press hard along all surfaces. Then, use a block of wood and a Hammer along all surfaces. If you rushed the dry time and it feels like it's not bonding well, grab your heat gun. Blast the top surface (if it can't be peeled apart) with the heat gun and immediately follow with the wood block and Hammer.

5) Once you get grooved on these points you will have a better bond than any solvent based cement. The 3M 30NF is great stuff but way too expensive. There is another, see below.

6) Try this product > Better Bond's Titan DX(tm) premium contact cement. Google it.

You are good to go!

I used this product to install cork tile flooring. I was impressed with the ease of use, strength of the initial grab and the relatively low fumes. It also goes farther because it is thinner than solvent-based adhesive. I would definitely use it again.

I used this to glue cork tiles to a concrete floor. The concrete floor was partially clean and partially covered in adhesive residue from old Congoleum that we couldn't get off. The Fastbond is holding like a champ on both parts of the floor, and it's very easy to work with -- just roll it on both surfaces with a paint roller, let set for 15-30 minutes, then start placing the tiles. It's quite stinky, so open all the windows if using indoors; the smell dissipates quickly once it dries.

I used this for refacing my cabinets. I refaced them 1 year ago and I have not had any problems with veneer lifting. Just follow instructions and you will be happy. Even though I used self stick veneer, I used this to coat the cabinet surface. If interested the book by Herrick Kimball, on refacing cabinets, gives you the whole procedure.

I have been using contact cements for many years. 3M is the only brand I'll buy in water-based contact cement. It far out performs anything else that I've found on the market and is consistantly excellent. Personally, I prefer the green (easier for me to see) but have also used the clear with the same great results.

Used to bond laminate over existing laminate. Smell was bearable as opposed to contact cement which is awful. You must wait long enough for this to dry or it will not bond. If you follow the instructions, be careful in placing this, because like contact cement, when its stuck, its stuck!

This is crap. Yes it is water base and eco friendly, but you have to quadruple the suggested coverage to get any adherence what so ever, and even then it does not hold as strongly as advertised. Used on polystyrene panels in an RV rebuild because I needed an adhesive that didn't melt the styrofoam when glueing to underlayment. At $100 per gallon I was hoping it would stick, followed directions explicitly...no dice. After curing for a couple days the panels still separated. Its junk, find an alternative method of construction what ever it is you are glueing so that you can use conventional solvent based contact cement instead of the weak sauce.

Product is excellent. Beware the dark green colour - can show through thinner substrates. The natural works well for thinner substrates but it's difficult to see where you have applied glue. I have used a mix of the two which suits my application.
